I doubt he'll see this, but back in the early headphone days, especially in the Bay Area, Whitney was a regular. I know plenty remember him from those early meets. Great guy and always incredible music suggestions. After peeling off, he reshowed in my world from this Stanford Medicine article - The Puzzle Solver. With today's HC birthday reminder I looked up his web site and see he's posted a few recent videos to his YouTube channel. He has had a very tough time with severe Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, also called Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME/CFS). Saying happy birthday Whitney, but also bringing those who were not aware up-to-date. https://www.whitneydafoe.…

I guess it's what you'd expect from an organization with that name, but these videos are a blast.

So I was really bored at work, and decided to look at some optical illusions, and found ways to see (or not see I suppose) where your blind spot is. Its fun! Just close one eye, focus on the dot or the cross, and move your head closer to the screen and eventually the dot (or the cross depending on what you originally focused on) will disappear! Oh and if you want it to work you have to look at the left object with your left eye closed or the right object with your right eye closed. This one below is cool because it shows how your brain is remarkably good at filling in missing information.

Dave over at the EEVBlog put up this informative post on the economics of selling niche electronics. As our headphone stuff is about as niche as it gets, I figure many of the points he talks about in this article are going to apply. Worth a read! http://www.eevblog.com/2014/05/28/the-economics-of-selling-your-hardware-project/

Some of you fine folks may be charitable givers. I've no doubt you have organizations you enjoy working with if you are, but here's another for you to consider. Kiva is a microfinance loan organization registered as a charity in the US. Basically, you choose a loan beneficiary by geographical region or business sector, and loan money to them. Most loans have a repayment period of 12 months, and better than 95% of the loans are repaid on time. They are zero-interest loans overseen by volunteers on site. Those volunteers choose the recipients and assist them in administering funds. Personally, I;m a big fan of microfinance, and of this organization. 100% of your…

I'm going to be up in Nashville tomorrow for a couple nights and was wondering if anyone else if going to be around (CMA Awards are on Wed.)? Any suggestions on things to see/do? Looking for a nice place to eat downtown on Wednesday then maybe head down to Tootsies. Hoping Willies will be there.

Just set mine up on the home network and opened the required port at the office so I can peek in on ESPN during my breaks. Man, this thing is sweet! Wish I'd had it when March Madness was in full swing. Still, that darned thing is COOL!! Snagged a 4 port Slinglink so I can pop in a Squeezebox, DVD player, and a couple more items, too! Man, I do love tech toys!

Hey, fellas! I've created this thread for us to discuss our furry pets at home. This is our Pomeranian, Kyle. He’s a little tyke who loves to chew on his nylabone, cheerfully bark in the morning, and cuddle at night before bed time. He may be a bit naughty at times, but he’s a great, loyal four-legged friend, overall. Feel free to share your pet stories, guys.
