Well, I surely like them all, but my fave is definitely blue cheese, lately though, I've started liking just a simple olive oil and lemon juice on a salad. How about you guys? -Mag

Have you ever wanted to go up to some person and ask him a totally random question just to see how he'd react? I admit that I sometimes want to do that at my Customs job, after asking the standard "where you been, got anything to declare?" stuff I feel like saying something really random and weird just for the hell of it. Questions like "what's the flaccid to errect size ratio of your penis?" or "did you know that an iPod will fit up your vagina?" So what are the random questions you feel like asking people?

So, on the day that my damaged transport is picked up (yesterday) I find out that UPS has decided to play kick-ball with the beta22 that I shipped out last week. Now today I hear back about the damage claim to the transport, which of course they denied sighting "insufficient packaging" and "no damage to packaging". Oh, sweet. I guess that custom cut 2" thick foam inserts and double boxing are now deemed insufficient packaging in their mind. And the entire corner of the box crushed 1" (through both boxes) qualifies as "no damage". I hope the guy who sold this to me is a good lawyer... Now, onto the beta22 that I had professional packed. Evidently they managed to treat t…

Hey all, I am flying this afternoon and am planning on bringing my portable headphone amp in my carry on bag. I won't have any full size cans, just my IEMs with me (which might make explaining what it is even harder). Has anyone had problems getting through security with one? It does look rather odd if you don't know what it is, especially when tethered to my ipod and there is a LOD between them.

I've spent the last 3 days boarding up peoples homes and condos on this island. I don't really like that kind of work, but many of my customers don't know where else to turn. Most of my customers are in the very wealthy bracket, and I like to keep them happy. I just finished boarding up my own place 15 minutes ago, it's been a very long day. I have three more houses (mansions) to board up tomorrow, and then tomorrow night I'm hitting the road. Unless of coarse the storm (Ike) has moved significantly north by then. I have the motorhome loaded with groceries and fuel, and I have a reservation at a park in San Antonio. I should have internet access there, so I should p…

By Eliot Van Buskirk Published on June 17, 2009 at 8:30am Carting a crate of used CDs to your local record store so you can make rent is a rite of passage as ancient as it can be tearful. But what about those MP3s and iTunes songs you're ready to unload? Is there a way to sell those off, too, when you get tired of them or just need some extra scratch? A new crop of consumer-facing music stores is focused on helping fans resell "used" digital music the way they do CDs. But the big conundrum with digital music is that there's no way to prove sellers legally own the songs on their computers. There's also nothing to stop them from keeping the songs they're hawking. Unl…

So I really like the look of slow motion (and am thinking that with Bobby, it's going to be necessary). What's the best bang-for-the-buck camera that I want? Most of the ones that do 60fps seem to be just less than what I want to do, and 120fps seems to be enough, although I could probably be convinced one way or the other -- my research kind of sucks in this realm. Any additional thoughts would be welcome. Is it just fps that I'm worried about, or are there other parameters? I have to admit to beeing full newb on this.

I'm going to build a new PC to replace my crumbling AthlonXP system, I've sorted out almost everything I'm going to go for, but I'm still having some indecision over the OS drive. Either the OCZ Core 64Gig SSD, or the Western Digital Velociraptor. I had the 74gig raptor in my primary Athlon XP system before it went unreliable and I was forced onto this crappy shuttle. The Raptor74 is so very crunchy noisy these days, I really don't want the Velociraptor to end up being that way, in spite of the claims that it is quieter than the previous raptors, and of course the SSD is silent. The rest of the PC is going to be as quiet as I can realistically achieve on an LGA775 plat…

this mourning at 4:30am water decided to travel up my sewer and all over the place. i was on the net when i heard some bubbling noise in back of me, when i turned around and seen water making its way past my door. i didn't know what to do, move my stuff to higher ground or try to stop the water. i ran to the to drains in the basement and seen a mini version of the Bellagio Fountain's only without the Bocelli (if Bocelli would of been playing at the same time it would of just confused me more..alot more). so what do i do stop the fountains or move my stuff? finally i did what Sean Connery would do on the Rect October..used Combat tatics...plug the drains! plug the drains!…

Folks, I'm a non US citizen but travels to US most of the time. Since I took up photography hobby (outside the headphone), I've been exploring the national park/conservation area on every visit. Here are my thoughts in general: 1. Yosemite : Crowded. Not many good spots for hunting (photography wise). You turn your head anywhere its this Half Dome. Most of the spots are easily a within short hike except Half Dome (which I dont have the stomach to climb). Overall I'm a bit disappointed with the park. But seems to me this is the most visited park in US. The gift shop is huge. Maybe come back in winter for some awesome shot. 2. Zion : Like this one. Been there once. Lo…

Five of the most awesome car stunts - ever! Vid #5 - If you have the patience to sit through it, drifting through the streets of San Francisco Ken Block flies his Ford Focus through the air sideways through a curve, lands it and continues on like he never left the ground. Never seen that before! Sorry for the small spoiler, but along with the rest of his stunts it's a "gotta see moment".
