Is it just me or do the smilie icons all look the same? Well, except for the confused, devil and afro ones. Even so, the question marks and the devil horns are really small. Sure, I can roll the cursor over them and see their labels while typing my post, but this doesn't work when reading a thread.

Sorry for the lengthy post to follow, but I took the 2008 Outlook in today for a noisy power steering pump, and ended up test driving a 2008 Infiniti G35x all wheel drive that I really liked. I'd really appreciate some advice from you level-headed people about maybe buying it, or not. I didn't want to clog up the "last thing you bought" thread with this, but that was where we talked a little about a "next car" recently and got me started. The G has 31,450 miles and has most options except navigation, and very nice new Michelin all season tires that look like they'd be good on the occasional snow we get here. And I got them down from $28,988 to $27,500 + $2,000 cash-…

Some unfinished business. Analog photography from Voltron's Mayberry on Acid Meet. Almost trashed the negatives, the proofs really sucked. (Note to self: Slow shutter + alcohol do not mix.) Took a second look and a few of the scans didn't turn out too bad.

Just wanted to wish all dads a Happy Father's Day today. Busy day for us, brunch w/in-laws, a visit to my dad, a graduation party, and MAYBE a dinner out, TBD. My wife Karen comes into our kitchen, where Andrew and I are talking. She steps back into the hallway, and says, "Andrew come here a minute...." Being the 15-yo boy, he annoyingly asks, "What....?!" And I reply, "Mom wants you to sign my card...." Nice chuckles all around. I told him he better write something good or I'll keep beating the shit out of him. I'm not the perfect dad, he's not the perfect son, but I am so much in love with this kid!

My Sister who lives in Arlington (a few bolcks from Metro) called me today asking for help moving tomorrow, so I'm heading down to help (basically watching the movers). I'm going to stay at least through Saturday morning, so that gives me all day Friday to sight see. My last time in DC was in the early to mid 90's (visited the Holocaust Museum shortly after it opened), and I haven't been to the Smithsonian since the 80's. Where should I go? there was a burger place back in the 70's (Bon Appetite - President Ford use to send Secret Service agents there to get take out. When I was younger it was the air & space that drew me, now perhaps the National Gallery suits me …
