I accidentally ran into this while surfing websites for threaded rods to build my flexy: The H.P. Friedrichs (AC7ZL) Homepage Look at the photo galleries linked at the bottom of that site, some very interesting-looking material there (not necessarily hi-fi, but nonetheless intriguing!). I might look into this sometime in the near-future.

To our fellow canadians who have shipped to the states - what is your experience regarding shipping carriers and our borders in assessing import/duty fees? I picked up a mapletree used on audiogon and would like some info on how to avoid them if it is an issue.

I need to quit this stupid sleeplessness i got from studying wednesday after doing an all nighter.. omg help.. I cannot sleep.. Actually I can, but its hard. anyone have any suggestions? If there is one thing I learned this is.. that is WILL POWER.. u can do anything possible with it as long as you try, so I can still wake up and go on with my daily activities without fatigue at all but it has to stop today. I want to get a Nikon d90 body and most places offer it at around 900 dollars but there are a couple of places that offer it for about 550. Are those places safe to order from? They don't seem overtly sketchy but I rarely order things outside of amazon.

Well, a couple of weeks ago, I had ordered a Thorens turntable from an e-bayer. The table (from the pics) looked to be in good order. I "sniped" the table at around $150. I was filled with excitement! I pleaded with the seller to disassemble it for shipping. But, alas, I guess to save money, he did not. When the table arrived, everything seemed alright. But I immediately noticed the idiot refused to listen to me when I pleaded with him to remove the platter from the main unit and pack it separately. Having room to move about, the platter completely sheared off the pulley system from the motor. I was both angry and sad. Worst of all, the table was sold AS-IS. …

After a two year headphone hiatus, I'm back, having just purchased some SR-009's, coupled with being in Reykjavik and finally meeting Spritzer in person. His hospitality has been great and I'm thrilled to have the new headphones; on the downside, I'm going to need a fuck-ton of money to properly amplify my electrostatic collection.
