I'm going to build a new PC to replace my crumbling AthlonXP system, I've sorted out almost everything I'm going to go for, but I'm still having some indecision over the OS drive. Either the OCZ Core 64Gig SSD, or the Western Digital Velociraptor. I had the 74gig raptor in my primary Athlon XP system before it went unreliable and I was forced onto this crappy shuttle. The Raptor74 is so very crunchy noisy these days, I really don't want the Velociraptor to end up being that way, in spite of the claims that it is quieter than the previous raptors, and of course the SSD is silent. I want to get a Nikon d90 body and most places offer it at around 900 dollars but there are a couple of places that offer it for about 550. Are those places safe to order from? They don't seem overtly sketchy but I rarely order things outside of amazon.

Sold my one and only bike about a dozen years ago. Getting the itch and have been looking at something to commute on and just have fun street riding. Maybe a weekend trip. Looking for a more upright riding geometry and more sport bike type responsiveness but touring bike comfort. Yea, there is no such thing but considering these bikes: Kawasaki Versys, Suzkui V Strom and a BMW F 800 GT. Haven't been for the all important test ride yet. So many bikes, so many niches. Stopped at two dealers today. Yin and yang. BMW sales person knowledgeable, good listener and had great advice. The Suzuki/Kawasaki sales person the polar opposite. Didn't know squat, ignored…

Been on Directtv for about 3 years now and finally getting around to maybe adding HD. Anybody care to share their thoughts on HD programs avilable. Is their a decent amount of programing available now to make it worthwhile.

Figured we could use a thread to discuss fitness trackers for those of us trying to lose weight and/or get into better shape. I have a Fitbit Charge, I'm actually on my 3rd one (2 replaced under warranty) and today the button on it stopped working. It's nice that they keep replacing them for free but damn it's getting annoying. The build quality is just garbage. Any suggestions on a different brand or model to try?

Well I'm not going to run a HFer of the year thread this year. I'm not on there much, and someone else can take on that role if wanted. I would like to continue the tradition over here however. I'd like to build a stand for the winner, just as I have the last two years over there. However due to my screw up with Voltron last year, I think it would be much better for someone else to take nominations, start the poll and take care of keeping track of the votes.
