Hello Off-Topic Forum- Well the year is finally up, and what a year it has been! America got a new president of the united states, the war in somalia finally saved the black hawks from extinction, and ray samuels came out with a new amp/dac combo called "The Predation". Of course all this means its time once again to vote for your favorite imaginary headcaser. These are basically five names I sat here at work and came up with. The winner will receive a prestigeous plaque and an indigienous culture person for their home.

I'm in my friends wedding at battery park this weekend. in Memphis airport right now with the GF. we have the rehearsal tonight, and the wedding tomorrow, but we'll have a smattering of free time this afternoon and tomorrow before 5:30. any recommendations for things to do/places for breakfast or lunch, especially in the general area of the Millenium Hilton @ 55 Church St, would be appreciated. thanks!

I need to quit this stupid sleeplessness i got from studying wednesday after doing an all nighter.. omg help.. I cannot sleep.. Actually I can, but its hard. anyone have any suggestions? If there is one thing I learned this is.. that is WILL POWER.. u can do anything possible with it as long as you try, so I can still wake up and go on with my daily activities without fatigue at all but it has to stop today. I've ended insomnia easily just by sleeping and closing my eyes.. but just wondering how you guys treat it?

so while driving back from school with my dad (picked him up from his office on the way home) we were talking about fireworks on 4th of july and i jokingly suggested that we take a trip to orlando and spend some time at the theme parks. oddly enough he said yes. neither of my parents have ever been there so it should be a great trip. going to leave tomorrow after my classes and then come back on sunday. looking forward to a good time.

For the past 5 years I've been using an ISP who provides DSL service. Connection and performance has always been spotty, but tolerable. Lately it has become intolerable. Last night I was able to connect, would get part way through a post and then the connection would be lost for the next several minutes to couple of hours. After 5 years they finally sent a tech out to check the box & their connection. Tech sez everything is fine at their end. Problem apparently lies with the phone line wiring in my home. OK...this may be a stupid question but I've been wondering about it. I own a 13" Mac Air that I've had for years and I use it mostly for this kind of stuff. Surfing, email, posting, music, etc... I can type pretty good so I really like the Mac for this kind of stuff. I find using my old iPad mini a PITA due to the typing. Same thing surfing with my iPhone. So....what are thoughts on getting an iPad Pro and getting a keyboard for it and using it as a replacement for the laptop? I'll likely keep the Air, at least for a while, as I like it and I don't need to sell it. But if the iPad is going to frustrate my efficiency in getting around the web and emailing, then …

I am trying to pay for something and I enter the persons email address and then it red it says Email Address: Please enter a valid address in the format [email protected]. Ok this happened to me 3 days ago with someone else who also has a valid email address and after 2 days of trying it magically went through (this person is a verified member of paypal). Now it is happening again and customer service is no help. Any thoughts? Should I ask the person to request the money from me? the person I am buying from sent me another address to use and that did not work either!

I been trying to bring up the HF home page for the past five minutes and seem to only be getting a page with: "Database error The database has encountered a problem." I generally only check the for sale pages so would have missed any announcement but was this downtime expected ? http://www.head-fi.org/

I just got spam email from CEntrance. They referred to HF to help sell their product. The only place I can think of where they could have gotten my email addy is HF. Has anybody else received this spam? I guess it's time to delete my account on HF.

Yep, another Head-Fi escapee here - just wanted to get my first post out of the way. I felt like the amount of evidence in this case was overwhelming, and Murdaugh's testimony was underwhelming. But you never know how a jury will react, especially in the case of a wealthy defendant. I think this jury got it right, even though they only deliberated for 3 hours.
