Wild and Crazy Go Nuts!

  1. Hi all --- Our magazine is actually doing a story on Bitcoin. I have read 3 stories so far, trying to comprehend them. Thought I did understand it as a "token-like" currency, but was then told they are not tokens. You get more of them by "mining them" .... ? Who runs the "mine" so to speak ? I figured you cutting edge types that transact with China may actually have used these. Could you explain to muggles what it really is, if its is not a token-type "currency" that you buy ? baffled. I read the Bloomberg, the Economist and Wired recent stories on it. Thxxx

A subscriber to the The Lefsetz Letter forwarded this article to me Do you think he likes them? Sennheiser HD 595 Everything old is new again. So I’m in the bar at the Royal York in Toronto and I’m introduced to the Sennheiser rep. I do what any obnoxious denizen of the cultural landscape would do. I ask her about Beats. I tell her I’m a dedicated Sennheiser fan, they’re my headphones of choice, I have both studio and portable models, but everywhere I go I see that red cord. She said it all came down to marketing. That Sennheiser wasn’t going to spend those dollars. That they were in it for the long haul. Had I heard the HD 595? I needed to c…

Am I the only one who can't resist buying a book every time I go into a bookstore? I am almost compelled to buy a book whenever I walk into a bookstore, or else I feel like something is not complete. And sometimes I would buy books which I already have, but simply because I have an urge to read it but don't have it with me at my current location, and not to mention various different translations of the same work. Make no mistake, I read all the books that I buy, but because of this compulsion, I've built up a huge library, scattered in my college apartment and my parents' house. And I'm one of those people who doesn't have the heart to get rid of books, so every t…

  12. I got this back in 2007 and have it set up as a 3-caliber kit -- with .22LR barrel/slide threaded for suppressor (not in photo), 9mm threaded for suppressor, and 40 caliber (no .40 suppressor yet). With 2 mags for each caliber, an LED light and Crimson Trace laser grips, and night sights. My 9mm suppressor is the AAC EVO-9, and for the .22 I have the Gemtec Outback II and an LCW Predator. When I took the photo I had both .22 suppressors in another case with my Walther P22 and Beretta .22 Bobcat, but I had a baggie of .22 ammo in the slot for the .22 suppressor. I do plan to pick up an M&P one of these days, and will have to look for a threaded barrel a…

  13. As some of you know, I have been training for the past couple months to participate in 165-mile cycling event from Miami to Key West on November 16 & 17th. The Smart Ride (this is the 9th annual event) raises money for direct service HIV/AIDs organizations in Florida, and what I like about this charity ride is that the cost of the event is covered by the riders' fees and donations from separate fund raising events, and 100% of the money raised by the riders goes directly to the organizations. Each rider agrees to raise $1250, and in my normal, lame, wait-to-the-last-minute style, I am just now starting to raise funds. A co-worker and fellow rider made the first don…

Hey everybody, I'm looking for an invite to Pedro's BTmusic tracker, which has a great amount of music, I think mostly in lossless; a friend told me that it was maybe one of the best trackers for music... I had an account on Oink but since it's dead I can't really find rare music in good quality. I'm a music addict, and I really want to join that BTmusic... so could anyone invite me on that tracker? Thanks, Tim PS: I'm french, so sorry if you don't understand anything...!

Introduced in 1982, the Buick Regal Grand National began life as a special edition honoring Buick’s back-to-back titles in NASCAR’s Grand National series. However, delivering just 125 horsepower, these race-inspired models left a lot to be desired. Just two years later, the car received an engine transplant that would eventually see it become one of the fastest models money could buy. Now, it looks like the Grand National is set to return, though this time it won’t be based on the Regal, and it won’t be a coupe. Citing an inside source, Edmunds is reporting that Buick is looking to launch a new Grand National sedan as well as new versions of the T-Type and GNX varia…
