Two days ago when my wife took our daughter to school this abandoned kitten approached them. An elderly gentleman told her the kitten had been there for a few days and the kitten was dirty and hungry .... which immediately set of Lisa's motherly instincts. The kitten also turned out to be extremely personable so I soon got a call pleading to keep the cat. I normally would not hesitate as I like animals equally well, but we already have three dogs and three cats. In the end I relented .... and now we have Jet. She definitely is a cutie and she is also much smaller than she appears to be in the pictures. As the first picture suggests .... she is already my head-fi buddy…

  3. Portland-based power metal band Tanagra is having a fire sale on all their recordings (they just put out an extremely well-received album) and merch following a trademark dispute filed against them by the Swiss audio company Nagra. This seems frivolous AF but what do I know? Can any bearded lawyer types like @Voltron weigh in on what would be involved in disputing the dispute? I have a hard time imagining that a judge would side with Nagra on this but it seems like the band has no interest in spending the cash to fight it. vs. Their press release: It's David vs Goliath! Portland’s Tanagra Forced To Liquidate Merch Following Trademar…

So a friend of mine is trying to track down a painter. I tried doing an image search, but all I'm getting is a bunch of "oil painting with glare" type images, for obvious reasons. Anyone know how to get rid of the glare? Or perhaps they just know who the painter is.

How do they come up with their blue book values? Averaging the costs of what the items go for in the classified section? Is their blue book accurate?

Hi everybody, I'm a "newbie" and just thought I'd say hello. My name is Floyd, Pink Floyd, but my friends call me Pinkie. I've been lurking here for quite some time and learning quite a lot about headphones and headphone amps from you guys I think it's now time to come out of the dark and into the light and I hope I'm welcome here. All the best. Pinkie

  17. So last week my vintage Mc2100 amp was shipped back from a recap, and when I hook it up the left channel doesn't play anything but some low-level hum noise. Subbing the Eico or Heathkit amps into the EXACT SAME setup works perfectly, so it must be the 2100, right? Wrong! Not 1 hour after dropping off the amp at the highly recommended local McAmp guy (that I found out about after the recap), I come to the striking realization: wait, didn't I have a bizarre channel-out problem with some interconnects and the AT-HA2002 a few years back? The center pin on the old-style HGA silver lace RCA Lok connectors was a bit too skinny, and for some reason wouldn't make internal conta…
