So I just got my Etymotic ER-4P's and they're sweet, but I want to use the foam tips and I can't figure out how to put them on. Do I just shove the tube into the clear tubing or do i take the clear tubing out? WTF!!

I must not be paying attention because this is the first I've heard of these Etymotic Research, Inc. - hf5? Earphones Anyone heard these?

The local Craigslist is choke full of "NIB" Beats. Somebody must be bringing in truckloads of Chinese knock-offs. We have had a ton of those white van speakers around here, now these. There must be 20 a day listed. Worthless either way, real or not. Is this the case around the other metro areas around the country?

Hey y'all, I wonder if you can help me out with a question. I love the way my Beyer DT990s (2005, 250 ohm) sound, especially for acoustic music. I find them a bit fatiguing when I listen to metal though, and I suspect this is due to their (according to my ears) somewhat enhanced sparkle in the treble region. My present amp is just the headphone out in my NAD av receiver - nothing fancy, but many people seem to like the headphone outs from NAD. For a source, I use either the NAD T534 multiplayer or the Playstation 1. So, what do I need - proper amplification or a different headphone? Or different source? Well I finally have a little spare cash, so I have at long last ordered a set of K-701?s. I had one of the first sets on loan from AKG last fall (To take to the NY meet), and I fell in love with them. I think that they are the bestest headphones made. Soon I?ll think about re-cabling them. I wonder what wire I should use? Now all I have to do is wait until they get here.

Hello, Just picked up a set of HD600's. Did a solid hour long listening session comparing them to HD650's off an obnoxious $4500 McIntosh something or other CD player (just to be on the safe side, lol) at my local stereo shop.. Money no object, greatly preferred the 600's. Felt like the 650 simply added a driver with a bigger motor and some supporting mods, giving it more presence but overly so, making the finer details of the 600's appear warmed over. I will be predominately listening to classical, which was the genre where the major differences really made themselves known in my demo session. Felt like the 650's were more a money grab than anything else....anyway…

So, I hae a broken pair of DT990's. One of the channels is significantly lower than th'other. Like 18db lower. First of all, for my edification -- what would cause such a thing? I would have guessed a broken connection, but I can still hear the signal, albeit significantly weakened. A short? An almost broken connection? I rule out the latter, because it does not cut in and out. This is all just theory -- I'm not much of a solderer. Secondly, who would be a good person to send to fix it, and perhaps to upgrade it at the same time (new cables)?

I am surprised there has not been much of a talk of the Focal Clear headphone here yet. I bought a pair from Justin a few months ago during a promotional sales. It’s an impromptu buy mostly prompted by Tyll’s review and the fact I had just built a SS Dynahi. Don’t ask me why! I got really tempted when the Focal Utopia and Elear price reduction was announced a week or so ago. I finally pulled the trigger and bought a pair of Elear after coming across the free headphone stand deal at headphones.com (their customer service is first rate so far by the way). Unfortunately my orders of headphone plugs and wire have not arrived so I am stuck with the 4m long, singe-ended Focal standard issue cable at the moment. My Dynalo is not cased yet so I had to make do with my DIYZONE Iris OTL headphone amp.

Hi everyone, I don't know if there is anyone around here who likes SA5k over the HD650, but if there is, I was wondering if I could get some tips. So basically, I currently own the HD650 and the SA5k. My mom uses the HD650 back at home, and my parents want me to give my SA5k to my cousin as a gift (strange, I know. Don't ask. ).
