A heads-up for those in the San Francisco area, The Burning Amp Festival, featuring Nelson Pass, Siegfried Linkwitz and lots of other cool guys. It should be one hell of a treat for anyone in the area who can make it, lots of cool stuff and there'll probably be enough tech talk to make your head spin. It's a great chance to hang out, listen to great gear, and learn more things in one day than you ever thought possible.

Just a heads up to my fellow GTA-based migrants, it appears there's been some heavy interest in a meet sometime soon. I have put myself out there as organizer if it ends up going anywhere, but there's no way I'm hosting a room of gangly highschool students unless the usual suspects are interested... I'm never quite sure why I do this, but I'm hosting another HF style meet on 2/26/11 in Grandville, MI. Hope to see some of you there.

Ok it's a bit of a long-shot but it looks like Mike and I are planning to hit the NYC century ride Sept 9th. I'm not doing the 100 mile ride but there are options for all levels 15-100 miles. I'll likely choose the 55 or 75 mile option, 6000 cyclists ride the event and this year there is a bike an bites feature that have many NYC restaurants participating. This is not a race per say but should be a lot of fun and burn enough calories to enjoy a few great beers and great meals. We could throw in a mini meet and maybe try and finagle a trip to OMA audio! Hey guys, I'm planning to buy my first pair of "serious" headphones soon. And from what I've read/been told, I should respect people's opinions, but I should ultimately try any phones I'm considering personally in person. So I was wondering if there were any Head-fi people from the 50th state, Hawaii. I'm located on Oahu, Chinatown area. Is anyone out there willing to allow me to sample some of their gear? So far I'hve only planned to buy ceap KSC 75 and JVC Marshmallows to have a good portable and IEM. To see if I can handle walking around with something sticking in my ears. This is our first full year, legally, as the Atlanta Audio Club, and once again we are honoring our commitment to support Southeastern Region headphone enthusiasts. -- Provisional Meet -- It has been far too long since Southern California had a headphone meet. We are the largest headphone community on Head-Fi and the 2009 Can-Jam host city. I hosted the last two big So Cal meets and we're long overdue for another get-together. One of the main challenges hosting a meet in Los Angeles is the cost of the meeting space. My proposal is an advance ticket purchase event. Most meets collect money at the event to cover costs with members usually contributing $10-$20.
