It's so different than Houston or Austin, that's it's hard to believe it's in the same state, let alone just a few hours away. It's a pretty low income area, and the school system sucks down here. That helps breed ignorance IMO. They have a bridge with a programmable lighting system in Corpus Christi, and the city council decided to light it with the rainbow flag this weekend, to show support for the families of the Orlando victims. The uproar and protest that caused was unbelievable! Many local churches were protesting, as well as others, but I was flabbergasted to see the council hold their ground. The bridge is indeed lighted in a rainbow theme as I type this. BTW, I think I enjoyed the last episode the most. Watching so many OJ insiders resign themselves to his guilt was oddly fascinating.2 points

Sorry, I guess my threshold for absurdity is a bit lower than yours. How about this? "it could be made out of a wheel of sharp cheddar and some rusty nails."1 point

There is an ability to do community projects in Fusion 360, which I think is really cool. For anyone wanting to mill foam, there are some precautions. I had an issue with my initial tests when milling to close to the edge. It grabbed a piece of foam and pulled it onto the bit. Not good. I used the duct tape on the one side to give it some stability near that edge. Like everything in milling, make sure your work piece is secured well. Also, for clean final cuts you need to use conventional milling vs. climb milling. This is opposite for aluminum.1 point

Fuck yeah. Will have to get around to that after the Chick Corea/Gary Burton, Peter Frampton, and Chelsea Wolfe Tiny Desk Concerts. http://www.npr.org/2016/03/17/470807870/peter-frampton-tiny-desk-concert http://www.npr.org/2016/02/10/466286135/chelsea-wolfe-tiny-desk-concert1 point

I like Dan, and I heard the Electrostatic prototypes at the NY meet. One was blech, the other showed some good promise I'd say. But yeah, if he's suggesting this, not the best idea....1 point

Get ready for it, he's using his mill. That he built. I think maybe using another mill that he built. Fantastic, Kerry, as usual.1 point

To prepare for the Dallas tournament and sharpen fencing skills, the Russian national team was invited to practice. It was a very high intensity workout...and damn cool to watch.1 point
