A fantastic weekend for me, 2 nights of celebrations for my 35th High School reunion, capped off by a day at the Lowell Folk Festival today. My friend Christine was able to make both nights, it was great. And in keeping with (maybe not hot, and certainly not lesbian) drunk chicks, one of my old HS friends is basically an alcoholic. And now her humorous cynicism and sarcasm flowed over the edge. And "joking" physical advances were fairly deftly deflected.....8 points

Sounds like they are expecting your power to be 120V, and that it runs lower. Even a surge on a different circuit could lower house power overall. Our power runs at 123V in the winter, and around 110V in the summer (108 when the dryer is on). Pick up one of these to watch it over time.3 points

Fantastic! But you made me realize that my 40th HS reunion is in two years. How is that even possible? You guys still see me as 20 something, right?3 points

What's good about it is that even if you weren't a gamer, it's still a fun read. I was kind of surprised it would be made into a movie, there are a lot of very specific game references that are bound to the plot, I'll be curious which ones they kept and which ones they substituted. There are a lot of legal logistics to be lll...can't think of an el word....wrangled. Did you see the RP1 episode of Community? It's called Digital Estate Planning, I thought it was the closest we were going to get to a movie version. Me: ripped through more M.R. Forbes. The man knows how to pace a book, and I really like his approaches to common tropes -- he tries not to do the same thing twice, and it's like Ghost in the Shell -- sometimes it's a buddy cop story, sometimes it's an intergalaxial thriller with politics, sometimes it's fantasy, sometimes it's science fiction, but invariably it's always a fun read. I think I'm all caught up with everything he's written at this point. He'll never be confused for Ernest Hemingway or any other super-literate authors, but I'm not reading it to build my vocabulary, unless you want to count the fictitious species "Plixian"...2 points

Brent gets away with a lot by not always informing us of his biscuit consumption. For all we know, he may be directly responsible for the likes of Cheeto Jesus (thanks, Mike) sitting in the oval office, North Korea's missile success, hell even Brad and Angelina's break-up. I'm suggesting to the BHCM Committee (Betterment of Head Case Members) that we install a permanent Biscuit Monitor. Think of him as a Secret Dis-service officer to patrol Brent's every move. All in agreement press the 'like this' tab.2 points

It's impossible to explain with words, you just gotta listen.. playing music lays bare your deepest desires, feelings, and insecurities more than any amount of words possibly could. Experienced musicians can easily formulate the kind of person another musician is (like his/her character and upbringing) within the first minute of listening. Whether or not the listener has a connection to the playing is a mutual reflection between the music and his/her own personality. For me, Arrau doesn't let his technical prowess get in the way of the music and is never afraid to take time and really live in the moment instead of through it, and in a way that the rubato actually makes perfect sense. His pure and introspective character is something that jives with me really well. Some pianists and musicians in general overthink until it becomes a bit contrived and some (well, the vast majority) underthink, but expression is always about finding that balance while being very in tune emotionally. An example of the former is Michelangeli, who isn't so good at stuff like Chopin because his intellectualism and perfectionism get in the way but is really good at impressionism and has a ridiculous tonal color palette. My favorite album of all time is his famous Ravel/Rach 4.1 point

As we're talking about Brent, we first need to determine if, in fact, he has a soul? Also, one must consider that if the Devil looked at Brent and decided it best to speak to him in Spanish, all sort of misinterpretation could have resulted in a clusterfuck of an agreement.1 point

Colin's metabolism is therefore not the result of a Faustian bargain, we can infer. Brent may suffer the same negotiating limitations. depending on your view.1 point

Fun read. I was born in 85 and I think I'm about 5-10 years too young for most of the references. I think RP1 might be better as a movie than it was as a book. I'll be looking forward to it next year.1 point

Brent, it was very nice, though misguided, for someone allowing you to take a picture of their breakfast.1 point

I had envisioned something more adult, like this, but the Mickey one is good too...1 point

Got half squatted for reps by a hot drunk lesbian personal trainer, then invited two Korean chicks who are on vacation to my apt for a nice homecooked seafood dinner. One even asked for the recipe.1 point

Finally trying out the birthday gift. Had the practice steak then the real ones. Also grilled up some corn I got from the farmer's market. Came out rarer than I wanted, as my Thermopop was reading 130 but they all came out way under. I haven't grilled in 6 years since my last grill exploded (house fire,) so I'm a little rusty. Still pretty good. The corn was ridiculously good, and I really want to make some more. I think I have 6 more ears before the next farmers market. **BRENT**1 point

Waited over five hours to get this mother fucking burger. If it is not the best burger I ever had, I will burn this place down. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point
