Buddy from Detroit came in to town and needed to stretch out his expense account. I knew a guy who could help. Chorizo deviled eggs, whiskey cocktails, Cuban tacos (pork belly, pork shoulder, red dragon cheese), fried chicken (spicy and regular), braised pork cheeks with polenta cakes, beer braised chicken tacos, apple tart with toasted pecans, bourbon caramel, and a local ice cream, Nutella cheesecake with toasted almonds and whipped cream, 2-3 Redbreast 12, 3 Macallan 12, George Dickel hand-selected bottle. Went through the process at the DMV to get my Illinois Motorcycle license and plan to attend a Triumph premiere event tomorrow night to check out some new bikes they are bringing out. Since I never drive my cars I figured it was time to put another expensive thing in the garage that I never use. Stretch and Dusty, 99+% sure I actually saw The Railway Children live back in the day, that they did make it to the US. They opened up for another band, but for the life of me I don't remember who that was....just that I saw them, and have a vague memory of liking them.

I was nearly a year overdue on upgrading from the old 6+, and it was fuuuucked up. Horrible battery and iOS update crippled it very similar to what Nate described above. So now I’m posting from my 8+. I have 14 days to switch to X if I really want but I doubt I will. I’m used to this screen and general design and will probably have it through 2021. Or until Apple cripples it on purpose.

NAD M-51 sounds good (how's that for a review). At least it's maybe better than the PS Audio PerfectWave MK2 and that's a great price.

I waited for 11.1 on my iPad, with no crashes, and no measurable deterioration of battery life (though I think maybe a little). Is it possible it's so far gone you need a fresh install?

Can now control a Sonos system directly from within the TIDAL app/player. The is actually pretty great as Sonos's own front end is ... clunky.

For curiosity sake, I picked up a pair to try out. Not nearly as bad as the DT770 but it still has recessed mids and the bass is a big boomier than I would like. Sending them back obviously. Still really comfy and solidly built.

if you populate the cpc1117n part, then you need to apply voltage to turn the power supply on, its normally closed.

the opto switch is on the grhv power supply boards. You need to drive it with something external. That can be as simple as a switch, or a time delay circuit of any kind, like the one stax uses, or the one on the diy t2 which is 555 timer based etc. Never did a board for that

The great thing with Beyerdynamic is their legendary stock of spare bits and after sales support. I have a pair of DT990's that I bought many decades ago. Now they still make the DT990 in various guises, but they have been through umpteen design changes in the meantime. Now my venerable DT990 had shot earpads, the soft bit of the headband was shot, and I'd stood on them at some point and the cup pivot plastic bits were split. Beyer had absolutely no problem in sending me (well - selling me) all the bits needed to get them back into as-new condition. I was well impressed!

I miss rueben sandwiches. That looks like a nice one. I don't give myself cheat days anymore, though I did let myself eat some sessile (and thus almost certainly non-pain sensing) sea creatures last night, post-wedding, in the form of mussels. I wasn't too envious of Colie's escargot and scallops once I tasted the vegetable risotto I ordered for my main course.

The boards you have are the GRHV PSU, different from the KGSSHV PSU. The 600 R resistor and the CPC1117N are there for those that want to implement a timed delay for the HV (for the amps using tube output like Blue Hawaii) You can simply leave them out if you don't need the delay function.

lampizator continues to advertise a DHT Plate Follower with a Voltage gain of +1 with a single triode. Not in this universe. Its crap like that, and transformers secured with double sided tape and a Mikhail class soldering job that tell me to run away fast. 20 years ago when the T2 came out, there was no such thing as a 1600v SicFet. Tubes were then the best way to do high voltages. There is a 4500v SicFet coming soon. Its going to be a bit pricey. But solid state direct drive electrostatic speakers will soon be possible. by the way you do know what birgirs middle name is right?

I've been pretty happy with my 7 since I got it this summer. It is still on 10 and apple's updates seem intent on slamming me to 11. I can't find where it has downloaded or anything, but am getting really annoyed with a screen popping up saying I need to update and giving me the options of later (as in tonight), etc. but no option for leave me the fuck alone Or Manually.
