I don't know about the rtorrent or qbittorrent tracker question either, but the DiskStation you choose depends on your use case. The DS220+ has 2 bays and the DS420+ has 4 bays (and they use the same processor), for example, but the DS420+ also has 2 M.2 slots for NVMe SSD cache drives. Using a cache drive makes a huge difference in the performance of the box. In Synology boxes, you can use a minimum one SSD as a read cache or two SSDs as a read/write cache. From a home use perspective, the read cache is more important so you don't have to buy two SSDs. You don't have to set up a cache drive right away – you can always add one later. You can also expand the RAM on each box to 6GB (they have one slot for upgrading with 2GB on the board already). The DS220+ can run as JBOD (just a bunch of disks), RAID 0, and RAID 1. The DS420+ can run as JBOD, and RAID 0/1/5/6/10. Synology has a proprietary RAID version called SHR (SHR-1 and SHR-2) that allows you to dynamically build a RAID set with different drive sizes. Each RAID type describes the number of allowable drive failures (SHR-1 can tolerate one drive failure and SHR-2 can tolerate two drive failures in their arrays). I've heard that SHR-2 is a form of RAID 6. You need a minimum of one drive for SHR-1 (you can add more later) and four drives for SHR-2. You can use their RAID Calculator here to figure out how much storage to set up: https://www.synology.com/en-us/support/RAID_calculator The higher-end DiskStation boxes include features like more powerful CPUs and higher RAM capacities, eSATA ports and 10 Gbit Ethernet ports, along with redundant power supplies, PCIe slots, and more disk bays.2 points

I cannot answer the question about rtorrent or qbittorrent since I do not use them. For the small price difference the 4 bay drives give you either more space or more expandability or more redundancy depending on how you decide to set things up. As an aside this is my second Synology drive because I am a big fan of their OS software (DSM). To be fair I have never used Qnap so I cannot talk about the two software platforms in comparison.1 point

I listened to the first side again this morning and cranked it up - I couldn’t get anything really to break down, it sounded great with huge dynamic swings.1 point

My Mom grew up in Hollywood and went to Hollywood High School. When she and her sister were walking home from school one day, Gable was sitting in his Auburn Cord at the Goodyear store. My Aunt shouted "Hey Clark!" to which he turned and replied,.. "Well, hello girls." My Mom and Aunt screamed all the way home! Her stories alway made me feel connected to those days and I love that imagined kingdom (in b&w though).1 point

Both the new wireless and LS 50 meta look quite nice! I think the LS 50 Meta with their new KC-62 Subwoofer would be a real nice & fun combo! I had just picked up a pair of Q350's, but may look into that combo instead....overkill for my 3rd/test/play system, but this IS H-C....!1 point

Kate Bush – The Dreaming I must be in the right mood... really enjoying the album this time. I think the other listens have been while I've been working, which doesn't help with such an intense array of sounds and ideas. Public Image Ltd – Metal Box1 point

I agree with you which is why I always call the dealer and explain that I only intend to audition the headphones at this stage. I'm not sure how useful my impressions would be as I EQ all my headphones to the Harman Target. From the measurements I've seen the 009 and 009S seem very very close in frequency response. My guess is that once they are EQed to the same target they will sound nearly identical. Anyway I will post some impressions once I've had them for a few days. I bought mine from HiFi Lounge in the UK. Got them for around 3300 euros which is considerably cheaper than the EU dealer price. As UK is out of the EU we don't need to pay UK VAT (I'm in Spain) but I will need to pay 21% VAT to get them in Spain. Even then it worked out cheaper than buying them in Spain. Paul at Hifi Lounge was willing to send me a demo unit so maybe you can give him a call? Tell him that Ranjan Thomas recommended him. I have no relationship with the dealer other than my recent purchase. He was willing to send me a demo unit and also gave me a 10% discount so I decided to give him my business.1 point

Deadwood What an absolute joy this show has been. I missed it back in the day, but going through it now on HBO Max over the past two months has been delightful. I fell in love with the amazing cast of characters and the setting. Al Swearengen is the fucking man. I'm really going to miss watching it now that it is all over. The movie, coming 10 years later, was also a beautiful send-off and love letter to fans of the show. Recommended without qualification!1 point

This weekend I flew down to Bangkok to meet the man himself, Wachara. For me the the entire RR1 Project was a dream - to develop a fully in-house Headphone with Bespoke parts specific to the Headphone and to meet my Heroes along the way. RR1 has enabled me to meet some of the greatest people in the Industry worldwide and that's the only success I see in the Headphone. Everything else to me is irrelevant. With Wachara, I've met all the Heroes I wanted to meet and that ends the RR1 chapter for me. Kaldas was named after my Grandfather and our goal with the company has always been quite diverse. We started the Headphone project knowing we would be in financial turmoil by the end of it and that is indeed, the truth. I will be managing our Headphone division not for long now, as we expand our production and settle the Manufacturing, the responsibilities will be handed over to one of my longest serving Engineer who was instrumental in the RR1 development. I will divert my attention to some of my other dreams. Thank you to everyone whom I've met along the way. Those memories will serve me well for a long time. Where it all started for me. Visiting G.R.A.S. in Denmark Meeting Birgir in Iceland At Audeze HQ in Los Angeles Klippel in Dresden And finally.1 point
