RIP someone or another

Exactly, could not respect the guy more as a person.

Hadn't thought of him in years (since he was still playing) and it moved me.

Has anyone in the history of humanity ever disliked Teri Garr?

Who can identify the cans in Quincy's home studio, circa 1974? Not I, by the way...

RIP to the legend with a legendary name, Quincy Delight Jones, Jr.

Could be an ESP-7 too as they used the same shells/headband but I'm not sure if the cable on those was ever coiled.

Like this..

Those were my first headphones, bought new in 1974. I got rid of them at some stage. But during a rush of blood to the head, I bought a pair from eBay for not much. The fluid filled earcups were as hard as biscuit, and the foam damping in the cup has turned to tar. Lots of clean up and fabric/foam pads later, I suddenly remembered how god awful uncomfortable they were/are. You head feels as if it being crushed in a vice, and the top of your head is almost bruised by the weight.

I would not have cared so much if the SQ was great. But it isn't either.

How Koss sold these things defeats me.

Koss remanufactured them for a while, but seems that they have stopped.

I also bought a pair of ESP6's again back in the day. Sound quality was great, but each cup had an energizing transformer in it. So the weight was again head crushing.

I got rid of those at some point.

But a rush of similar blood, I bought a pair of ESP9's. Tarry goop in the cups etc. But at least they come with an external energizer, so the weight is manageable. Sound quality is great. Still not at the heights of my two Stax systems, but pleasing non the less.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has that opinion. Mine received new drivers and pads at an official Koss center about 6 or 7 years ago.

Their "ergonomics" are exactly as you describe... it's like having a vice clamped on your head. I've never been able to spend much time with them on.

Wow.  I learned that J. Saul Kane died.  He was only 55.  JSK was a fascinating character.  In the early 90s, he played a huge role helping produce legendary rave tracks like EON's "Spice"

JSK was best know for his solo work undfer the name Depth Charge where he combined elements of rave, breakbeat and house with kung fu samples.

He was also a serious photographer, working mostly in his native London.

JSK's other notable characteristic was his pure "no BS" policy.  He neither gave nor took it.  This made him an odd fit for the music industry, but he had so much raw talent he got ahead anyway.  I was Facebook friends with him (ya rly) for like 15 years.  He was one of the people whose activity where never not interesting, whether he was him excoriating some fevered ego like David Guetta, showing off his street photography, or some new piece of musical kit he had acquired.

This only begins to cover how cool his studio was.  Also JSK wasn't just a gear hoarder.  He did amazing things with it.  John understood sequencing, synthesis, mixing and mastering.  John had the distinct aura of brilliance about him, which came through in everything her pursued. He's a man gone far too young, and completely irreplaceable. He will be missed. Rest in peace.

One of our most important Labour politicians, John Prescott, has died aged 86 after Alzheimers

That recounts a famous incident where a protestor threw an egg at him from behind. Feeling something running down the back of his neck, he turned and decked the guy with a punch. When Tony Blair (the PM at that time) asked him what happened, Prescott replied "I was carrying out your instruction to contact with the electorate"
