120 SPEED PILLS, meaning I will be free of ADD symptoms for another month. tease.gif...and if you believe that, I have a cryo-treated bridge I want to sell you.

5 watt bulb shaped CFL. It's supposed to be equivalent to a 25W incandescent, but I find it throws almost as much light as a 40W.

I stuck my nose in the liquor store and saw Ardbeg 10, but no Uigeadail, so I resisted.

You are probably right about that.

I can't find any pappy, or van winkle down here. Not even lot b.

My 8 year old Eureka canister vacuum broke yet another part. The local repair shop was selling the Miele Carina for such a great price, I snapped one of the remaining two up. Carina + 2 boxes of bags and filters cost $299 including tax. The cheapest I've found it online is $399 and that's without the extra bags and filters.

Gee, aren't I a sweet homemaker? ;)

Nice grab, guzzi. We have two Miele vacuums and they have both been excellent.

Have little intention of keeping the big bowls.

1946 Parker 51 complete restored and in beautiful shape for a pen 30 years older than me.

The vintage specialist at Art Brown International in NYC. Re-frosted the cap added a NOS jewel and rehabbed the vacuumatic internals. It writes and looks like a new pen if not better.

There are several specialists in the 51 over at FPN and I believe there is a prominent one down in Florida if I am not mistaken.

Thanks. The pen and pencil are close to perfect other than the nib. I have the case and box the set came in as well.

The 51 is well worth restoring as it is a fantastic pen. What vintage is yours?

Mike,

send it off to Richard Binder. He is the '51' go to man.

I'm in negotiations for a Pelikan m605 in Dark blue, but I may bac out because I have more work to do to my bike.

Good question. I haven't looked at it in a while. Is there a way to identify the vintage. It was my dads and I'm guessing he had it back in the '40s.

You can find Binder here for a restoration and he also has written up a nice article on the 51 in his Reference Info section that will help you nail down a time frame. The info will most likely be around the imprint for the 51 Made in USA on the body.

Try one of the elementary school kids at the local school. You should ask the parents permission before approaching, however.

Me: A mixture of Vouvray and Chenin Blanc (4 bottles total).

Jeff, who restored the Parker? I have a '51 pen and pencil set. I'm pretty sure the pen needs a new nib.
If it just needs a new nib, ask Hirsch. I don't know if he's doing any restoration work for anyone else yet, but he does a lot for himself. I've heard him say he can do nibs and resackings in his sleep.

Oh, and: win.

I have a near mint one as well and would like to know the vintage. I can't seem to find any identifying serial no's though.
