Shelly, let us know what you think of that Malbec, looks delsih.

The Malbec was pretty nice, not enough to go out and buy a case but still good for the price ($13).

Jacob's knife addiction is contagious. I wanted to get a wa-gyoto style knife so with Jacob's help, I ordered a JCK Inazuma 240mm Wa-Gyoto. Seems like good knife for the price. Although, I hope it doesn't look quite as gaudy in person.

Nice knife Shelly. Reks, how does that stuff compare to the Shun Classic. The prices seem pretty reasonable.

I'm thinking of going with a 7" Wusthof cleaver for cutting ribs. Mens Journal recommended the 9" but I think that is more cleaver than I need. I need something that can handle blade on bone contact.

well, it would come down to profile, mostly, as they are both good steel. if you like to rock the blade a lot, the Shun is going to be better. if you like to slice more, the gyuto is going to be better. the Shuns are well constructed and have great fit and finish.

make sure you don't accidentally get a Chinese cleaver, they aren't made for bone contact.

The Wusthof is described as a bone crusher.

Awesome lineup Jim, and Reks is right that warning label is all win.

Bitchin' knife, Shelly! It doesn't look gaudy to me, and I bet the blade will be much more subtle looking in person.

Heh, I thought the warning was nice so I left it on.

I missed the knife earlier Shelly and agree with Al that it does not look gaudy. I love the handle.

Nice haul of gin Jim!

Looking at the knife again, I think I am going to like it a lot. :)

Those prices seem incredibly reasonable. Maybe I should start a kitchen knife habit (as a successor to my high-school knife interest) to encourage me to cook more. Considering I live in Japan I have little excuse not to.

Just because I'm gay doesn't mean I'll decorate your place with flowers. :indra:

Actually dude, it's in our contract. We've come a long way, but there's still a ways to go.

Thanks. Is it referred to as a noun, I.E. "nice tsuchime on that one"?

It can be used both as a noun and adjective.

Nice choice Mike. I really like their watches.

I had a Mil Shark 750T that I regret selling. I'm tempted by the Mil Shark 5000T. The price new is a lot but not bad considering what they used to be. I'm on the look out for a used one.

2 tickets to see Chris Cornell on 4/13.

Tom Bihn: Absolute Shoulder Strap, Side Effect and Snake Charmer. Emotiva: XDA-1

2 tickets for Strikeforce World Grand Prix @ Izod Center 2/12.

Dozen roses, 2 lbs of See's chocolates, a necklace. Oh yes, it's my 37th wedding anniversary today.
