November 20, 20178 yr Something's fucky with my X. Shipped out of China a week ago, then back in a few days later and has been EXCEPTION/DELAY ever since. Happened to me as well. Took a week longer than the original delivery date but it arrived.
November 22, 20178 yr All good, received today. Tres snappy. About 30 seconds after getting set up, it was confiscated to make unicorn animojis.

I think its the best device they've ever made. It is just stunning to use. It takes a week or so to re-train yourself to it. Once you do though, there is no going back.
November 23, 20178 yr Yeah, I'm already there. Screen is amazing and it absolutely flies through anything you throw at the processor. Although I actually wouldn't mind a slightly bigger one, feels a little light in the hand after being used to a Plus size. (Penis joke goes here, Steve.)
November 24, 20178 yr If anybody with an iPhone X also has a pair of Dillon Optics sunglasses, I would love to know if you are able to unlock the phone while wearing them.
November 24, 20178 yr If anybody with an iPhone X also has a pair of Dillon Optics sunglasses, I would love to know if you are able to unlock the phone while wearing them.I can’t unlock my phone without my prescription glasses. Not the answer you are looking for, but I would assume if you train two faces, with and without, it will work just fine.
November 24, 20178 yr I didn't realize that you can do two faces. The Dillons are opaque from the outside, and Dillon themselves figured it wouldn't work, but they certainly didn't have an iPhone X in hand, when I asked
November 24, 20178 yr Author The basic answer from Apple, which you've probably seen, is that it depends on how much IR is filtered by the sunglasses. They say that typical glasses (sun or otherwise) don't filter much and therefore aren't an issue.
December 3, 20178 yr Author In case this is happening to anyone else - it has plagued my wife for the last day - the only fix to the "my iphone now reboots every 30 seconds" is to update to 11.2. I'm amazed that this bug made it into the production version of a previous update...

March 10, 20188 yr I forget -- I remember that one let's other people update first, but I forget what site one uses to determine when an update is safe to update? Is there a one, or just Google? My 11.2.1 iPad is asking to go to 11.2.6, as I usually procrastinate.
March 10, 20188 yr Author I don't know that I've ever seen a specific site that rates the updates, I'd use Google.
June 17, 20188 yr Washed my AirPods in a shirt pocket yesterday by mistake, warm cycle. They still work fine. That surprised me.
June 17, 20188 yr I have been lucky thus far with the airpods and doing laundry, but I have washed, unintentionally, the regular apple earbuds several times in different conditions and they remain. glad to hear they survived. I have switched to the sony WH1000XM2 for doing stuff around the house. Likely, it could be the zombie apocalypse going on around me, I would not notice.

My one experience with noise-cancelling headphones is that they seem to actually make conversations happening near me worse by eliminating all the background noise. That said, I'm happy with the isolating capabilities of the DT1770, so this will probably not lead to a purchase, but I am still curious.

There is an iOS app that pairs with the headphones and samples the air pressure around you (let’s say for airplane use for instance,) surroundings noise level and then applies your preferences. It is very good. Battery lasts long as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
June 17, 20188 yr you don't even need the app. Hold the selector button for 2 seconds, and it does it in headphone. And Dusty, you have the choice between silence or just background noise elimination.
June 17, 20188 yr Yeah, but the level of customization through the app is remarkable.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
June 17, 20188 yr I'll keep it in mind if I ever go the noise cancellation route again. Every once in a while, my office mates get so rowdy that even my headphones don't mute them out.
May 28, 20206 yr This thread still active? It is now... So I had the brainlet idea to try broadcasting a DJ set using redderp's RPAN (Reddit Public Access Network) system. I have an older iPhone (6+ IIRC.) I'm going to buy an Apple Lightning to USB3 adapter (so I can get USB I/O and power the damn thing) and a powered USB3 hub. I also need to pick up a class compliant audio interface (I needed one of those anyway.) My first question is, can an iOS device get stereo in from a class compliant interface? I see lots of example online, all of which are mono.
May 29, 20206 yr I don't have an answer for you so should probably keep quiet, but there are devices from IK Multimedia, Apogee, etc. for getting stereo (in some cases selling mono or stereo versions) into iOS over lightning, so that part seems possible. Trick I suppose is the conversion and input hardware.
