Once again this year I'm prepping to ride a century in support of the Kelly Brush Foundation. Between Zwifting as required by the rainiest spring in history, the MTBs, and getting outside as much as possible this summer I'm piling on the miles in preparation this year and should in proper form before the event. Once again this year it'll be an in-person ride up in VT, with friends mostly coming from near-by so we should have a strong crew of 8 with some riding the 50 and most doing the full 100 miles. Same rig I've been using for over a year. FLACs in foobar -> Adcom GDC-750 CDP/DAC -> Gilmore Lite + DPS -> HD-650s/Blue Dragon Mk IIs, all the electronics being feed cleaned power via a Monster HTS-5100 MK II. Total cost to me: around $1500. What makes me a true head-fi heretic is that I have resisted upgraditis and FOTM syndrome. That is, until I sent a large-ish payment to one Mr. Takei for some bleeding edge fuglyphones and accompanying boat anchor. One pair of cans doubles the cost of my rig.

Today through a newspaper supplement article I've learnt about Chloe, the 10 year old kid who has a rare disease that only suffer 12 people in the planet. There are millions of people suffering in the World, so why care, you may think. One of the reasons making this case worth our attention is that there's an investigation going on, they know what gene is causing the disease and they know they might be able to produce the missing substance causing the problem.
