I wonder if they'll have a surprise at CES? They seem to be following the IEM trend, so I wonder if they are even interested in a 'new' 650. If the 650 is doing well, my mess with it?

So I just read Darth Nut's review of the O2s, and wow, it is without a doubt the best review of a piece of audio equipment I have ever read, hands down, no contest. What really blows my mind is how conceptually clear the review was. He basically articulated a coherent conceptual framework for audio review and applied it to an actual piece of audio equipment in a consistent, logical manner and backed it up with supporting evidence. It combines both his subjective perceptual experiences and his concepts in a way that shows the reader his thought process. Honestly this should be required reading for anyone interested in describing audio equipments.

I managed to get a pair for pretty cheap, but I'm not really expecting much. At the very least I hope they can trump the KSC-75 for movies and laptop use.

Shit. I'd been listening to my RS-1s for a couple of hours. These are the darker wood used ones I bought from Larry at Headphile a couple of months back. I stopped the music and turned off the amp to roll out the tung sol's and RCA grey glass 6sn7, and roll in the sylvania gold pin 5687s and a Ken Rad vt-231 6sn7. All the tubes are firmly in place, and I crank up the amp. A few seconds later, I hear an alarming POP noise come from the general vicinity of my headphones and amp. Just a singular, loud, POP. Hi guys, any of you own both? Or have you heard them side by side in a good setup? I currently have the W11jpn, and I am 100% sure of owning the L3000 in the near future (couple of months time). The thing is, I kinda have my eyes on something right now and I was wondering if I should sell the W11jpn to finance that purchase since I'm gonna need some quick $. To rephrase, is the L3000 different enough from the W11jpn to justify owning them both? Any of you miss owning the W11jpn after getting a pair of L3000? I go through a pair of cheap Sony earbuds (DR-EX12IP) every 1-3 months. I didn't want to get something nicer for fear of them breaking after a month as well, but I'd like to give it a shot. I'm looking at Shure SE-215s. My main priority is durability. I am probably not likely to put them in a case when not using them. I know it's bad. But I use headphones at least 5 hours throughout the day (sometimes more), so it's easier for me to just keep them coiled in my pocket. The next priority is comfort. My ears are pretty small, so that could be an issue. And I don't know that Shure IEMs are really meant for the general public. Is there a more comfortable option out there? …

I've been loving my dt-250's at the office (and growing to despise the dt-990's treble. It's all hunky-dory until you get a bad recording. yikes), and while moving some boxes around at home I found my old Koss A-250 headphones from circa 2000. The headband clip for the right phone is finicky and the leatherette cups are starting to peel, but they really do have a sweet midrange (if not as warm as I prefer, see the beyer dt-250's). Their bass sort of sucks imho though - I have to boost them quite a bit to get a natural sounding bass quantity. Ignoring the suggested retail prices, and the headphones selected... I found it interesting to see the trend in HeadRoom's updated "Ultimate Head Phone" guide. Hello everyone! I am a product designer from the uk and I'm designing a pair of headphones for my final project (at Uni). I'm aiming them at the female youth-late twenties market but I want them to sound good too. So far I've been trying to research design on headphones but am not finding an awful lot. Does anyone know about the insides much? lol is it a case of just the speaker being inside the headphone cup? I'm looking at 40mm Neodymium speakers but I can't find any other higher end alternatives. They seem decent but at only $USD0.20 I'd like to put something better in. I just received a set of HD650s. "Wow" is all I can say. That being said, I don't think I've read anything positive about the cables on these things, so the idea that the sound could get even better has me salivating. What do you guys consider the best balanced replacement cable for these?

So all the old stuff about these is buried in the Stax thread but since I just bought a lightly used set of KS-M3 and M10 it was perhaps time to give them their own thread. So I owned both the H1 and H2...and both were terrible. Truly awful but there are still people out there claiming the H3's are really good so...I was curious. I have a KGSS and SR007 Mk2. I usually leave my KGSS on all the time. Is it best to leave the headphones plugged into the KGSS all the time to allow full charge or to just plug them in a little while before a listening session?

Hi guys, I had a Sennheiser HD595 for many years and that was an okay headphone and I've used it for 8 maybe close to 10 years now, but now that I'm beginning to learn musical instruments and starting to appreciate music for fully, I'm in the market for a set of new headphone and was hoping if anyone could perhaps point me in the right direction or better yet, give me a few recommendations. Could anyone point out the precise differences between the Stax SR-202 and the SR-303? I understand that the difference between the '303 and '404 is only the cable, but I was wondering what about the '202? I have read something about it somewhere (how's that for being vague.. .
