Noticed that there hasn't been anything posted on the Audeze LCD-3 for some time now. The Fazor update was around 2014 or so, and there was a fair amount of press at the time that it improved the performance of the headphones. I picked up a set of LCD-3's last fall, and to me, they sounded pretty darn good overall. I found it a step up from a pair of Focal Elars that I was using. At this time, was using a Mjolnir Audio Dynalo amp to drive the Audeze LCD-3's. While I was happy with the sound overall, noticed that some recordings didn't have quite the clarity I was hoping for. Still looking for my perfect DAC......then stumbled to this headphones : Beyer DT48E.......everyone said its perfect for guitar, piano and vocal. that search function is really pad. it doesn't even narrow things down and will locate the terms even in common words... anyway. please address tonal balance, detail (and i mean detail as in detail...throught the range... not as in "oh noez! dis shit gotz lozta highz~!"), isolation, and comfort.

Hi everyone. This is a long shot but maybe someone will be able to steer me in the right direction. I'm trying to make (or buy) a retrofit that lets me connect my David Clark (general aviation style) headset to our helicopter which accepts a military helmet. The jack on the helicopter is a 5 pole U-385/U (TJ-105 or M641/22-01) socket. It accepts a U-384/U (TP-105, M642/14-01) plug. The headset has a PJ-055B headphone plug and a PJ-068 mic plug. Well, After upgrading my Denon 3910 with the SACDmod + adding few extra blackgates around the dac for good measure, and recabling my K701s with mogami quad, now my system is quite a bit brighter, mostly due to the recable. 909 thought something was off with the recabled K701s which are now fatiguing. Iron_Dreamer and I also thought the high freqs sounded fatiguing when listening to Tylls recabled (cardas) K701s at the So Cal meet. I dismissed it as bad cable (cardas), but now that my K701s have the same problem with the mogami, I think AKG used the cheap-ass wire they did, to tame the highs and cover up the deficiency in that area. Now my tinnitus is flairing…

I have had the oppritunity to audition these cans twice. Once unamped out of ipod and once with an iBasso P1. Was dissapointed both times. Knew I would be with them unamped. Not quite as dissapointed with them out of the P-1 but something was still lacking. Have since upgraded to AE-2 and was wondering if this amp would be more suited for them (no longer have cans avilable for auditioning). Have found a couple of really good deals on used ones (around 120 USD shipped). Not much to loose and could always resell if I didn't like results. Would be used mostly for Blues or older Rock (no metal).

Not quite sure where this belongs, so mods feel free to move this thread. So, me being me, I'm usually a little late to the party. I was in Best Buy today and came across the Boze frames, Bluetooth sunglasses. I listened to them and can really see a use for these when I'm away from home. The sound was certainly adequate for non critical listening, with the advantage of being able to hear voices, sirens etc... Does anyone own these? Would it be easy to adapt to Alexa?
