Suggestions

When I go to someones profile, including my own, all entries just say Array. I can't see what gear or hobbies anyone has anymore. Just me?

I'm thinking -- since we have so many people that know so much about food and whatnot -- that we should have a whole culinary sub-forum. And not sure, but maybe we should move drink in there, too. Anyone second the first? Thoughts on the second if so?

Is there an easy/possible way to print out a multiple page thread? For instance, if I want to print out the entire Stax thread, I can choose printable view, but it still results in having to print out multiple pages individually. How can I print out the whole thread in one fell swoop?

I'm getting an error message "[#CHAT-03] You do not have access to our chat room" when i try to use the chat. I assumed i got banned for something, but i was told that none of the admins remembered banning me (well, this is the first time i've been banned, ever, if i was). So.. can i have chat access back, if i wasn't banned? If i was banned, its fine, i probably did something i shouldn't have - its the uncertainty that bothers me.

Can we have a "misc" or "synergy" forum? I wouldn't know where to put something like an Audio Analogue Enigma/K1000 thread (AAE is an all-in-one system...with tubes!) or a Stax system (both amp and speakers) or a "how does this system sound" thread. I think "Miscellaneous" would be fine for these purposes. ...or maybe a "master gear" forum.

is there a preference for turning off email notification of new pm's? if so, i guess i'm dumb and i can't find it. if not, can y'all add it? mjb

It was a great idea... Call it Pretzel FOrum, it doesn't have to be just about pretzels... Let it be the inane forum where people can just get really silly... Let it be the pretzel central warehouse where i can go off on intangibile stupid things that make no sense, and we can weave a reallly strange dialogue. come on fellas.

Can we have a movie forum?

In a recent thread of mine, a few simple diacriticals were omitted, like an umlaut over the lowercase letter "A". Does the current forum software allow adding additional character sets? It's a rather minor complaint, but it couldn't hurt.

Alright, I'm confused, I'm changing one of them, but something to which I thought I changed it got stuck under my moniker...so now it appears I got two, and I can only change one. So I guest the question is, how do it all work again?

I'm still trying to think through ways to keep this forum different from another place we know. Right now, the level of discourse here is much higher than at that other place, in part because we are confirmed hobbyists, without a large influx of newbies stumbling over us. That is likely to eventually change, though, and I think we should try and find ways to keep forums focussed on sound, particularly the high end. So, as a start, how about a forum titled "What should I buy?" or "Is this the right gear for me?" or something along those lines. Non-ASCII characters change to question marks in posts made in HC. I see that this was brought up once in the PPA v. M^3 thread but I didn't see an answer from the admin. I also experienced the same thing when I tried to insert superscript 3 character in my sig. Is this issue on tkam's radar?

I noticed that I am getting the alt string rather than the icon for being a subscribed to a thread. So I took a look at the http source to find the URL for the gif. It's http://www.head-case.org/forums/images/misc/subscribed.gif. When trying to view the gif directly with that URL, I get a File Not Found error. Since everything else is working for me, I assume that something has happened to this link. Is anything wrong there?

Added a small feature today, now if you click on a username in a post there's a new option in the drop-down menu that lets you PM the user quoting the post in question. Screenshot attached

I noticed that, for example, when someone posts multiple URL's to a site -- say, audiogon, in the forsale elsewhere thread -- that only the first one gets modified to the title of that page -- I'm wondering if that's a plug-in, and if there's an update to that plug-in, so that it grabs all of them, not just the first one? Or if it can otherwise be fixed? Might cause a performance issue, but since it's only once on post, I'm thinking that would be okay.

The GIF tab when posting doesn't seem to be working any more. No matter what I search for, it now says that there are no search results. Not critical but it's odd that it worked up until recently. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Another forum I go to just implemented a edit history type thing where anyone can see if a post was edited and what the post looked like before it was edited, sort of like wikipedia. I'm not completely sure if the forum software here could implement it but it would be pretty cool to have that feature available and increase the edit window a little more
