Who Would Win in a Fight, Pac-Man or Kratos?

  1. Thanks to the efforts of a redditor, some previously console-exclusive DLC for GRID is now available via P2P. It adds 20 new cars and a new track to the game. The files are also available here and here.

Not sure if this really belongs here or in the computer advice forum, but here goes. I'm considering picking up a PS3 for its Bluray capabilities and occasional game fun time. What wireless router do you recommend that will work well with the PS3? Other uses will include iPhone around the house internet access, and who knows, maybe a wireless music server a la Squeezebox at some point in the future. I was actually just at Best Buy (which I realized, tonight, without a doubt, that I hate, and I will try to never go in there again) and almost bought a standard Linksys router for $80 or so, but I got cold feet when I realized I didn't know if I'd need something more…

  9. Did any of you goons buy into this one during the kickstarter? I was a bit wary of buying into a game so early in development, but the scope's looking pretty damn big now, and it's still in alpha. It's a huge space simulator in a huge persistent universe, but it also has some more simplified sub-games like arena combat and space racing. There's a free weekend going on right now, so I'll probably fly around and shoot at junk. It's a bit of a behemoth download at 27gb, so my condolences to any of you recently inflicted with Comcast. https://robertsspaceindustries.com/ for more info on what the game is about. It won't be listed on steam or origin, since it's b…

http://sc2.sourceforge.net/ They've updated this again in a big time way. I'm going through this game right now and I just marvel how much depth and texture and complexity there is in this game to this day and how well its aged thanks to the mod work and tender loving care from the creators themselves on this project. http://uqm-mods.sourceforge.net/ There's a few side mods that go with this that I'm really happy about not the least of which are time dilation mods that hold back the Kor-Ah Borg like March some 200 years so you actually have time to enjoy the damned game. That always my one biggest complaint with this game. http://forum.uqm.stack.nl/…

Anyone played it? When I was in high school I was pretty obsessed with DDR and ITG, but once I got into college I lost my access to any local machines so I picked up the pc alternative. For those not in the know, pretty much you mash the shit out of a keyboard in attempt to hit different combinations of arrows that are matched up with keys on your keyboard. It can get pretty nuts.

I bought this game a few days ago and I can't stop playing. The game is amazing. It's become one of my favorite mario games ever. I like it even better than SMB3 (and I know such a claim is blasphemy!). It starts off way too easy but after the first 60 stars you collect then the game has a sharp incline of difficulty and that's when it gets fun. There is so much variety with the exception of collecting 100 purple coins in every level that something almost always feels fresh. I highly recommend this game.

So I bought this a few days ago, I've been a big fan of whole Unreal series since the original UT came out. I'm happy to say that UT3 continues to have the same fast paced action and absolutely killer graphics as the previous iterations of it have. The Warfare game mode is pretty badass as well. Unfortunately the menu design absolutely blows. It looks like it was put together by a 5th grader and was clearly done so that it would play well with consoles. They are apparently going to fix this in a future patch so I'll be keeping an eye out of that. As I mentioned the graphics are really fantastic, the environment and character textures are well done and very detailed.…

I really enjoy this series. Has anyone else played it? I find it as good as Final Fantasy and unique because of its gameplay/combat and storyline. I recently saw they are working on the 3rd installment of the series for DS so I'm pretty happy. This is one RPG I reccomend anyone with PSP/PS2 to try out. The original is for PS1 but those cost around $90used and $250+new on ebay nowadays because of it's supply and demand. I'd say just play the PSP reprint with enhanced CG cutscenes. http://www.theverge....-gaming-console Disclaimer: There isn't a hell of a lot of concrete data or sources behind this article. Take it for the overglorified rumormongering that it is but I personally think there's a grain of truth to the overall broad concept being suggested here. Obviously if GDC and E3 come and go and we see and hear nothing than it's a bunch of crap and we move on. Valve were ambitious pioneers with Steam way back in 2004. This has the potential makings of being another ambitious and possibly pioneering move by them yet again. If basically set themselves up as the Android of the entire gaming world that's huge for them. If nothing…

2011 looks like it's going to be another busy year for great games and in the next month or so I'll be looking at getting: Killzone 3, Bulletstorm, Dragon Age 2, Dawn of War II: Retribution and maybe Homefront. What games are you guys looking forward to picking up this year?

I've been thinking. Bad habit, I know... The PC, as a gaming platform, is superior to consoles. It is more powerful and more customizable, it offers unparalleled support for third party controllers as well as support for independent developers. It is cheaper to develop for, and its native keyboard and mouse interface is significantly more precise than a dual analog stick controller. But all of this comes at a cost - a good gaming PC is a lot more expensive than a console, and it also requires time to set up as well as some technical skill on part of the user. Consoles, in the meanwhile, are cheap, easy to use, require almost no effort to set up, and offer a platform t…

Ok, so the Boy wants a video game console. I want to get him one that we can use together. My initial assumption was Wii U, but it is getting mixed reviews. What do you guys think? XBOX with Kinect? Basically, I want something that has good multi-player, non-shooting games. So lots of sports titles and things that the Boy can physically do instead of just using the controller. Don't care about Blu-Ray, etc.

  23. If you like this type of game and have been wanting to get these, let me know. I already have a copy of each game so I want to gift both of these to one person. Who wants them? I've been playing this for a couple of weeks and this is one of the more fun physics based puzzle games I've played. And I do enjoy my physics games World of Goo is an indie developed game that has you use blobs of goo to try and build structures that will lead the goo to their freedom by an exit pipe. The game starts off very easy, but ramps up in difficulty pretty quickly. World of Goo Free demo on Steam and the system requirements aren't high. Youtube trailer:
