  1. Full day hanging with the grand kids ages 5, 7 &10. Helped us put up the Christmas tree and we watched Polar Express. They can be a handful or angels depending on how they choose to be. Today they were all angels. Looking forward to a good time with them tomorrow.
  2. Thanks all, had a good day. Headphone meet up at Fidelis Audio in NH, nice turnout of decent human beings. When I got home my wife and son met me at the door with ~50 small wrapped things, all in a trail, very clever. Then off to a second location of my favorite restaurant for my standard birthday dinner (slightly changed from "Bayou Catfish" to "Bayou Redfish" but I think even better). Then watched the Bruins finally win a fucking game. Though befitting my new age and pending AARP membership status, I fell asleep for part of the third period. But in reality, turning 50 means I'm one day older than the previous day. When life is overall pretty good, it's "just another day." I measured this milestone with a smile, not with panic....
  3. Half Moon Bay burger with cream cheese, jalapeño, and wildflower honey at 5050 yesterday -- surprised at how tasty it was

Got an email back from schiit saying the dac was noisy with the grado gr10 which is not as sensitive as the Jh 16. recommended I cancel the order since it was not the tool for the job. Extremely impressed with their honesty. Will likely buy from them in the future.
  5. That makes three of us. No worries: as your body goes to hell, your brain continues to grow. Well, at least for what you might remember. Happy Birthday!
  6. Hope you're having a great day Todd! Cheers!
  7. ^ Favorite Mike Nichols tidbit since his passing - Dustin Hoffman was convinced by Nichols to play The Graduates very WASPy character (in book) by saying "Well, maybe he's a Jew on the inside." Best film worried character ever (at least not played by Woody Allen). Hope things calm down for you Stretch.
  8. And I would be sure to seek your counsel regularly!
  9. Happy belated! 50's a big one, I just had mine last year. (Kinda figures we are close in years.) (party favour noise)
  10. Nice one mate! Many happy returns!
  11. Happy Birthday Todd. Here's to fifty more.
  12. Put some meat glue between bacon and chicken The bond was not as strong as I was expecting. Still damn delicious though. Edit: was finished with the Searzall too. I love that thing purely for the fire and the fact that it sounds like a small rocket.
  13. Happy Birthday, youngster!
  14. Happy birthday!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Start shopping for "everafter insurance" yet?
  16. A very happy birthday to you, Todd!
  17. Happy birthday, Todd!!!! we're starting the best half of our lives
  18. Congrat on a half century. Happy birthday, Todd.
  19. A dubious life milestone, but Happy Birthday Todd! All the best.
  20. Update. Yes. It's playing just fine through the squeeze box. You can even search through squeeze commander. And both the Android version of Tidal and the ickStream app do not seem to suffer from the one song at a time issue. Maybe that's some sort of one-off with a particular Chrome version or something. Another update: it was upgrading chrome took care of the problem. Excellent.
  21. Happy Birthday, Todd. :prettyprincess: Hope your having a great one! Ah, to be 50 again.
  22. I signed up for the Tidal trial. And ickStream And installed the ickStream plugin on my Squeezebox server. And it seems to work! (Seems because I haven't gone in the den yet to actually play anything through the Squeezebox. It browses music and appears to be playing as I look at the server interface.) I like the Tidal web interface so far. It's easy to navigate and they have pretty much the whole catalogs of the two artists I clicked on as a test. (Leonard Cohen and Tom Waits. But that's too easy. Let's see how they do with Fausto Papetti ;-) One issue though. In the Tidal web interface, it's playing only one song at a time. The play queue shows a list of songs, but I can't get it to play them in sequence. Bug? Or have I not done something?
  23. it's like crappy's movie recommendations. Just do the opposite
  24. Sorry Al. What Antonio said. I hope you find something new at work that makes it more interesting. Great job Peter! We dragged down the tree from the attic and hung ornaments.

Traded 1-for-1 with PVW23 with a liquor store manager at a place in DC. He has an absurd bunker. Not quite Mikey-level but I imagine as good as you can get in American whiskey.
  26. lets not forget the cavalli .000000001 % thd at 20hz to 20khz at any level including clipping
