  1. Fried chicken biscuit at the Stomping Ground yesterday. Bought an extra to send to Brent but ended up eating it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Today I was in the area of our old house, when Lo and behold a used record store just opened down the block. Really nice guys that were easy to talk to and super helpful. Found a great looking bill Evans 180g for $5, and picked up cat Stevens tea for the tillerman for $3, copy looked untouched. Asked for phoebe snow, one of the guys didn't think we had any, but one of the workers overheard me and pulled out her 2nd album while he was sorting some records, $2. Finally found a copy of Beatles love songs but appeared to have a pressing issue on final track. Asked guys to play it on system and it skips, ask nicely if they can give me a discount and $6 later its mine. So yes this was a lot of fun and the records are super clean and quiet and just great music.
  3. Birthday dinner out at my favorite neighborhood Italian, Gaetano's. Braised short ribs of beef Milanese style with saffron risotto And their interpretation of creme brûlée using phyllo and a caramel topping.
  4. My actual car is whole again: Got it valued and came in 3k under kbb so we'll see what progressive says I think waiting for the next STI upgrade in 3 years is probably the best bet...
  5. An interesting problem with the 335d. I was passing someone on I83 this afternoon when I realized I was going about 115.
  6. I saw a Chris car at the gun range today. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. The first photo "Candy Cigarette" is of the American photographer Sally Mann's own children, which I think gives it an added poignancy. To me, the subject seems to be literally looking beyond the childhood her siblings are still happily caught up in, and only the mother among them knows what that means at that moment. Mann caught a lot of flak for photographing her children nude and in emotionally raw situations, but the results are often truly beautiful in my opinion.
  8. Happy Birthday, wishing you the best of everything
  9. Exactly. Then I had one of these at Jack Rose after dinner at Estadio which was excellent: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Eating Brent's biscuits can be very dangerous, in more ways than you ever want to think about!
  11. First ride of the year. Shows 39.7 miles from the watch, but it died right at the end. It's showing a little under 1000 ft of climbing, but my Edge 200 is showing a little over 2000. in 40.00 miles exactly (yeah, we planned that,) but we did have 3 hours on the road. We also got lost and rode around trying to find our way home for a while. Eventually called and got help, but man, that was a good day in the saddle, even if it was a bit tough on us. https://www.strava.com/activities/832171595 **BRENT**
  12. ^both are kind of disturbing, but I somewhat agree. The first one is sort of sad, she's a girl that for some reason seems to have lost her innocence. The girl in the Blind Faith cover still has the bland look of a kid despite the nudity and her incipient development.
  13. Thanks all! I had a pretty normal day and just went to work. But for dinner, Anne surprised me with a 4 star meal she prepared using a recipe from Charlie Trotter's cookbook. Salmon poached in a seasoned vegetable broth with crab meat potatoes and a beef red wine reduction. Then an Achatz chocolate pie for dessert. Tomorrrow I get to choose where we go for dinner. Doug, the Browns' strategy worked out great! We got the first pick! Woot! Just wait till next year!

  22. I can't say it is good, but it was delightful to hear again. I saw them at the Metro in Chicago in the 90's - it was a terrible but very fun show.
  23. Cyndi Lauper on Austin City Limits.
  24. There are dozens of vids of this genius of vocal mime on you-tube
  25. OK then, it was understood, just not that funny. I can live with that. (wanders off to sulk) Odd juxtaposition of millionaires bacon and the welfare burger.
  26. How strange is it that this photo always made me feel uncomfortable? And yet this one never did... Not sure what that says about me or our society, but it seems a bit twisted.
  27. Millionaire's bacon With a side of Cheeseburger
  28. Steve as you well know Headfi sends their drug dealers, murderers and rapists... oh and some good people how I wish we had a deportation force to send the wankers back over the wall/fence to HF
  29. Agreed. Might be in the minority here, but I've never heard a Grado headphone I've liked and I've heard damn near all of them. Different strokes, I guess.
  30. Feel like this belongs here. Numpties!
  31. Alec is 12 today and asked for a "proper bike."
