  1. Met John (jvlgato) for lunch today, down by the VA. Great as always to see him, and had a nice chat (and lunch)! We'll have to do it again!
  2. I set up a phone interview for a job I badly want, for next Wednesday. University IT director position, 5 minute commute, excellent pay and benefits. and for once it's a job where people on my reference list are known quantities, and respected ones. I applied Tuesday, so it seems that they are moving fairly quickly.
  3. I didn't realize colin was going back into riding
  4. Fuuuuuck that. Not coming.

My "designed and tested on deployment" Marine Raider watch finally arrived. Nice packaging and a couple of strap options. I think this will be a great Ti beater for the summer when I do not want to wear the other beaters. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

darts are really a personal feel type of thing, I threw for years in a bar league in NYC and went through many types of darts. I loved this style for a while https://www.amazon.com/Bottelsen-Hammer-Tungsten-Gorilla-Diameter/dp/B005I0I8WY/ref=pd_sbs_200_7?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B005I0I8WY&pd_rd_r=2GM42R97E14SC0HCHR2A&pd_rd_w=facCR&pd_rd_wg=Gaiyh&refRID=2GM42R97E14SC0HCHR2A In the end it is all about mental focus and flawless technique. Some nights the target looks so big that I crushed games 501 double in double out and some nights I played like Ray Charles.
  9. The chassis belonged to a Grounded Grid, now transformed to something similar with tube input. Need to make a top plate else I think it’s finished. Ordered 50 pieces of ceramic discs. Got them in 50 plastic bags…..
  10. Thanks Nate. I can't even seem to break a bone, these days.
  11. Good luck, Jacob. It's past time something broke your way.
  12. By all accounts it appears mofi is the actual one manufacturing with outside consultation. In Michigan I believe.
  13. OK, back on track. One burned resistor replaced. I guess the malfunction was due to the input tube, but I actually don't know for sure. So I took a new tube and the balance servo wasn't able balance it out. Tried two more still not able to get balance but eventually I found a tube that worked. I should have made room for a balance trimmer and jumper for the servo on the board. For the sound. I'm not very good at describing how something sounds, so you won't get any details from me, sorry. How does it compare to the T2? I'll pass on that one as well but I think Kevin somehow is hunting the T2….. We should let the blood hounds (Kerry, Birgir, et al.) join him.

I'm with you on the feel thing. Going to the dart shop tomorrow before I go throw with a chick who beat me by one bull last time, though I won in the most clutch game we've played to date. http://tadarts.com/contents/en-us/d202_Steel_Tip_Darts.html I'm thinking the 40-50$ range is solid for now. That would get me into 80-85% tungsten darts and let me get Some throwing down and then down the road, when I know my preference, go Bottelsen. I can't remember which weight I used to throw, but think it was 24ish. If you know of anything from my local shop that jumps out, LMK. **BRENT** Sent from my ONEPLUS A3000 using Tapatalk
  16. Listening to the 50th anniversary release of Sgt. Pepper's. Giles Martin did a really really nice job. It's a joy to listen to. I didn't pony up for the version that included the 96/24 tracks but I may after listening to the 44.1/16
  17. That's down in the desert where Greg lives. It hasn't broken 102 degrees F up here this week!

Our new dart board came with a lake house attached.... It may need the HC treatment. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using Tapatalk

Our back patio fence is a giant piece of wooden shit. Adding a dartboard to it (until we replace the damn thing) isn't a half-bad idea... I wouldn't care about putting holes in it one bit.
  22. Like the fact that I can both not run and not bike on it. Definitely a value multiplier.
  23. I found both these videos enlightening: I think Barrett-led (early stuff), ensemble (everything between <-- and --> ), Waters-led (The Wall, Final Cut), and Gilmour-led (A Momentary Lapse of Reason and after) were all Pink Floyd, just different. It seems Waters in the above video recognizes that he wasn't Pink Floyd in hindsight.
  24. Oh look, an explanation by someone with a PhD in Automotive Engineering https://drivetribe.com/p/ZEmFReoISuu-UpRiwGcRdw?iid=E-rXx_YyTRuPWv1KDJjPRA also monitors, and dramatic lighting / music “Increasing the downforce by sacrificing the drag is something anybody can do, but that wouldn’t be very smart,” Kakinuma-san says, adding: “We put all our emphasis on improving the drag to lift balance, so we can increase the downforce but still reduce the drag”. https://www.carthrottle.com/post/6-new-things-we-learned-about-the-fk8-honda-civic-type-r/ cf, Negative Lift https://www.carthrottle.com/post/6-fascinating-technical-facts-about-the-new-honda-civic-type-r/

I can't wait to drink the tears of all the keyboard warriors pushing their lame group-think agenda and spamming the HF Z1R thread when they finally realize Jude's measuring setup is slightly better than pieces of leather, some foam, and a mannequin head they stole from a Macy's. Coincidentally, Sony's measuring setup is a bit better as well.
  27. i also went to tokyo recently, and the used record shopping was even better then i had hoped for! so many shops everywhere! well stocked, organized and best of all, properly graded! surprisingly, i didn't find much (old) japanese music though, which was a shame, as i really wanted some Taeko Ohnuki records (i already have them on cd, but i want vinyl too!) i also bought a AT33 mono, as it was so cheap down there.
  28. Thanks Al. It was Gail's initiative and my work. Carved up and ready to go. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  30. Lots of discussion at SH over this table. They are trying to decide if its truly a reborn 1200 or if its a modification of one of those chinese usb tables. They are also getting really angry with each other. For a bunch of Beatles fans the Hoffman forum is one of the angrier places on the internet.
