Once I cooked the meat, the moisture let off created a wonderful, brown seasoned liquid, that I scrambled eggs in and cooked some onion and bell pepper. Shredded some cheese and built some incredible breakfast tacos. Yum!

Obviously I didn’t need to sell it to buy the Hermes, I have just been trying to consolidate without spending any money out of my pocket. Maybe what I need is a new strap for it. As I age I become less of a bracelet person. Speaking of straps, apparently I’m not allergic to chrome tanned leather anymore, which is weird, as I had a rather strong and fairly immediate reaction. I could usually get away with wearing a chrome tanned strap for a few hours, but I would always get a rash the next day. I’m on day five of a chrome tanned alligator on my Santos, with no rash. This opens up a lot of possibilities for me, especially with the Santos with the proprietary lugs, and suggests I’ll be able to wear the Slim on the OEM Hermes strap.2 points2 pointsChicken Katsu salad from Starbird Chicken. 2 points1 point1 point1 pointI made soup: chicken, beans (too many, they didn't all fit), chicken broth, celery, potatoes, various other soup vegetables, simple spices (black pepper, red pepper, dill weed, 3 green onions chopped, garlic (almost forgot -- had two helpings before I remembered to add), small can of hot jalapeños) and that's it. No oil this time. Smells even better than the previous batches, tastes friggin' delicious. One small can of hot peppers amongst all that food didn't overwhelm the other flavours, just added a nice little amped up bite to it.1 point1 pointMerry Christmas and happy holidays. My son is his father's son for sure; he got me a T-Shirt as an "extended" part of my birthday gift. 1 point1 pointThe bomb cyclone knocked out power in Northfield (and a good chunk of the rest of Vermont). But we got our generator working on propane so we have working heat, refrigerator, stove and outlets in one room. Trying to conserve propane to just use the essentials since this is the first time we used this generator in Vermont and it is unclear how long this may last. Update: The power came back on around 6:15. The generator worked great and we were able to make a nice dinner and finish eating before power was restored. We feel pretty good about the first test.1 pointOkay after 'on earth' I had to wrap up the rest of my Cunk saga.1 point0 pointsSame Jim, power kicked out here around 8pm last night when a second cell went thru and hit us with some crazy gusts for a bit. Lots of trees down which made going to pick up the kids quite the adventure. Still no power here which makes this one of the longest outages we've had since we bought the house (11+hrs). Everything is ok for now, both fridges powered, house mostly heated, etc. But the temps dropped like a rock over night (from 50 to 10F) so things are going to be wickedly frozen out in the world. Here's to hoping the power comes back on soon. I'd prefer not to attempt to cook Christmas breakfast on a single burner.
