While I was tempted to leave the top unfinished as I liked the look, I decided that this will be primarily a poorly devised assembly table and not really a hand tool bench so protection for finishes and glue took precedent. Therefore, I rubbed the bright yellow snot all over the top also because from what I have read it will give better protection than the Danish Oil.
Just finished a v1.21 board SuSy version. Volume controll is in the DAC, left that out, just a power HPamp. Running on 200mA, only balanced in- and output. THAT340 (could not find anything else in Europe), Nichicon Muse caps, SPC cables, dual v0.44 GRLV with 100VA/24V. Modushop 2U Dissipante 300 and 2U SlimLine 280.
Thanks go to Mirko for the remote support and to Dr. Gilmore for the incredible design!!
Output transistors are MJE15032G/15033G, extra insulation is needed.
Size of the heatsink is 200x62x40mm, ~50°C with 120ma bias.
It could handle more heat but I need larger heatsink for GRLV.
The nichicon kz cap (Ø:12mm) is too big so one has to lying down.
Edit: one more pic added
I bought it on pre-sales but you can listening on spoti...
Mammal Hands Gift from the trees
Simply delicious
As I savor this, I'm waiting for the latest Go Go Penguin work due out this month. 🙂
Applied a first coat of Tried and True on the base (ash). Kind of wish I had treated the Ash with a water based finish, as it went from looking okay to looking Home Depot lumber real quick with the yellow tint.
Happy Birthday Doug!
I was going to post some absolutely apposite artisan AI art,
But people :

Ok, I think I figured it out. I want a 2.5” finished circle, using a 1/2” bit and a 3/4” outside diameter bushing so I need a 2.75” inside hole and a 4” outside diameter. The thickness would be best if more than 9/16” (that’s the height of the bushing).
Did I pass the math test?
so i posted this elsewhere because people really want to spend large amounts of money on an electrostatic amplifier that uses a pile of 300b.
this is the first of two.
Megatron xl with 4 x 300b
Megatron xxl with 8 x 300b
Power supply #1 goldenreferencehv all solid state
Power supply #2 tube rectified lc filtered no regulation solid state regulated bias.
Power supply #3 tube rectified lc filtered 4 x 6l6gc fully regulated voltages. 300 volt tube rectified and 6bq5 regulated power supply. solid state regulated bias
high voltage rectifier tubes are gz34 (5ar4) 300v rectifier tube is ez81
I figure a megatronxxl with power supply #3 should come in at a retail built price of $40k
evidently one or more companies are making dc supplies that slam 7 amps into cold 300b resulting in tubes that don't last very long. so this will have a slow start quad 5v power supply board. the xxl will have 2 of these boards.
amp chassis will be about 14 x 14 x 4 inches. power supply box should be the same size.
the spice simulations indicate that minimum distortion is set at about 33ma, so this is likely to eat about 300 watts total power consumption. distortion will end up about .01% at full voltage swing.
