Al, you said it so well.  She fought hard, bravely, and beautifully all the way through.  RIP Valerie.

My wife grew up in a small town in NJ, called Glen Rock.  Apparently Valerie's sister (half sister?) is still there, and the town is pouring in the sympathies and well-wishes.....
