RIP someone or another

RIP Clive Cussler. Used to love those Dirk Pitt books on planes and vacations. Along with the Clancy stuff they are damn near ideal beach reads.

Also like the Clancy stuff they probably haven't aged all that well

RIP Clive....!  I've also gone through a lot of his series, from Dirk Pitt to Kurt Austin to Oregon to Fargo....still some to read.

RIP McCoy Tyner. This is really sad news. But he's one of the greats who I got to see play many times and I have a lot of memories. It was especially awesome when McCoy and Bobby Hutcherson played together, which they did as recently as 2016. With both of them gone, we're getting awfully low on jazz legends. 😢

I’m spinning all my BN catalog with Tyner in memoriam tonight :( started with real McCoy, finishing up some side work with Freddie Hubbard, and will next move on to his work with Wayne shorter. RIP

Great older piece and video over at Criterion - The Looming Gravitas of Max von Sydow. Embedded below. Well worth a watch. Vin Diesel this is how you act.

RIP Kenny

Cause every hand's a winner,
And every hand's a loser,
And the best that you can hope for
Is to die in your sleep.

I really like some of Kenny's pop country joints. Islands in the Stream is a personal favorite for what? nearly 40 years.
