In keeping with the TV trend I picked up a Samsung PN50C7000 for the basement living room. On sale at Best Buy and came with "free" BD-C5900 Bluray player and four pairs of shutter glasses. So much for not buying into the 3D hype:palm:

Enjoy yours as well. Turns out Directv has 3D content now as well so I will have more to watch that the free BD of Monsters vs Aliens.

Please do let us know how porn is in 3D.

I can imagine one would duck and cover for the money shots.

I wonder how the k701 would sound on Crack with a Speedball upgrade?

i shall find out soon enough. hopefully. from what i have read on the bottlehead forums so far, to be able to accommodate lower impedance phones, the output capacitors need to be beefed up and depending on the capacitor, a few resistors need to be changed out as well. need to go over that info again before i start building. if anyone would like to do a gb of sorts for the caps please keep me in mind. or let me know in case you would like me to run it.

ps. 650s otw too :)

now about that dac...

There is also an alternate output tube to the 6080 that has a lower output impedance...... the 5998 brings it down to 70R versus the 6080's 120R. Might be worth checking that out.

Here is the thread I was looking at, probably the same one you found as well! http://www.bottlehead.com/smf/index.php/topic,789.0.html

what is that nate? ^

looks mighty cool. universal remote of sorts for the house?

It's a Droid X. I must admit, the dock looks pretty slick.

Nice, digging the large screen. Does it still feel pocket-able?

bloody hell. i didnt notice the motorola on the left or the verizon on the right but the way it is photographed it looks like its rather huge...if i had to bet i would say ~7" diagonal. looks very nice.

So the center pinch lens caps I ordered off eBay came in this week. I've been using them for the last couple of days and have had no issues with them not staying put with lens hoods on. FWIW, all of my lens have UV filters. I believe they're ones Vivitar sells (one of them came in Vivitar packaging while others came in no-name plastic packaging). They're so much easier than side pinchers to put on/take off while lens hoods are being used. I wish Canon would start using/making center pinchers for their lenses.

The screen is fantastic and the phone itself is no larger than my iphone was in the otterbox case. Actually it is much thinner than that phone was and as expected V's network kicks the crap out of att's. It's still not a perfect device but I like it a lot better than the iphone as a total package. Simply being able to download a podcast wihout having to connect to a compy is pure win.

Looks really nice! I think I'll be getting that Droid X soon now. Code SMART30 will knock $30 off $199 with Verizon. :) Plan will cost me $61 a month, which isn't too bad really.

I'm thinking about buying out my AT&T contract and going to Verizon for a Droid X. But then I kind of want to wait a little to see the 1.5 ghz Snapdragons.

Nate, sorry to backtrack, but curious why weren't you able to download podcasts over wifi with the iPhone?
