  • I'm watching the news that three asshats have been found guilty of murdering an unarmed jogger in Georgia. Thank you to the jurors for being human.

My sainted mother is visiting from Marthas Vineyard, so I've been showing her a few old films.  Last night we watched The Black Cat (1934), which stars Bela Lugosi and Boris Karloff.  Both men were at

Yup, I'm a couple episodes in.  Haven't had any of those "wait, did I miss an episode?" moments at the beginning of an episode yet, like last season.

EDIT:  Okay, just finished it.  The writing is off-the-hook, good.  E.G.:

Spoiler

Charlie (regarding coffee):  I want some!  I want some!

Hannah:  Shh...Not so loud, you'll wake your sister.
Charlie:  Can I have some?
Hannah:  You're not old enough.  but do you want some water or some juice?
Claire:  I think we've got some juice in the fridge.
Charlie:  I'll get it.  (wanders off)
Hannah:  [chuckles]
Claire:  He's very cute.
Hannah:  Do you regret it, not having children?
Claire:  [looks, poker face]
Hannah:  Oh, I'm sorry, that's too personal.
Claire:  Do you ever regret having them?

[/spoiler]

Yeah, I'll be using that line in real life.

Also watching The Returned and From Dusk Til Dawn (season 2).

Hell and Back -- this is hilarious.  "Please remove all religious paraphernalia.  If you're a priest or a nun, that's just really funny because you wasted your life.  Enjoy your stay in hell, and remember, you're here for a reason or you're Jewish.  Pick up after yourself, your mother doesn't live here, and if she does, she was a whore."

"I got an idea for another great punishment.  Imagine this...hot girl, she asks you out.  She's like, 'hey, let's go do Bikram yoga.'  You go, you do yoga.  It's hot, it's sweaty, she looks fucking great."

"She shows you every major flexibility that she has."

"Sweaty in all the right places."

"What do you call that one move?  Dog down."

"She can get her feet behind her ears."

"She can put her legs behind her fucking neck and walk home on her ass."

"She's making her body into the alphabet righ there on that yoga mat. A, B, C, D..."

"And she's spelling out, 'fuck me'."

"Of course she is!"

"...while you're doing yoga, which sucks for you, but you're gonna do it because you're gonna get to fuck this hot girl after."

"Oh I love that!"

"End of the night, 'good night, I gotta go home.'"

"What?!"

I am laughing inordinately hard at this shit.

"I can't believe you said the n-word!"

"No, it's alright down here, I can say it down here."

...and...

"Do you know what the hardest part of owning a cat is?  Telling your parents that you're gay."

Oh hey, that was kind of mean.

Just finished watching the 2nd season of Bosch (Amazon Prime).

As good as the 1st!

Should I watch it Shelly?

It's entertaining but not a must watch.  Also, I didn't like the last two seasons that much.  It's hard to say if you should watch it Steve.  It definitely doesn't seem like Dusty's kind of show.

Lost Girl season 5 is up on Netflix, so watching that interspersed with my usual shows (Arrow, Flash, Marvel's Agents of Shield, Agent Carter has finished for the season, Castle, Gotham, iZombie, Legends of Tomorrow) and Fargo.

iZombie -- this show is so good!  On top of being a fairly light procedural, they just set up a worst case scenario, where a zombie apocalypse is teetering on the edge of going -- as they so poetically put it -- "full Romero".

I love shows with layers.
