May 30, 20206 yr I've been watching a French TV show available on Netflix called "The Eddy". About a jazz club in Paris. Good music, interesting plot... They say it's a "mini series" but it's 8 episodes almost 1 hour long each.
June 1, 20206 yr Notwist live from a pre-lockdown festival—if this is the new normal, I am going to miss live music the most. EDIT: Actually, that might’ve been live.

In season 2 episode 3 of A Series of Unfortunate Events (which I believe maps over to book #612), they introduced Esmé Squalor, clearly named after the Salinger short For Esmé, with Love and Squalor, which a certain other Esmé is named for. She just smiled the whole episode. Edited June 6, 20206 yr by blessingx
June 6, 20206 yr Hey, like what you like. IIRC you were only using it as a guide on what to watch, no-one obliged you to dislike it after the fact. Cheers.

Just finished Maniac & loved it! So quirky, and so many layers. Cathartic & ultimately satisfying, imo. One of my favorite tv series ever now.
June 6, 20206 yr Speaking of super fun series, one of the pluses of HBO becoming HBOMax is the Warner/TBS tie in, so Search Party seasons one and two are widely available before season three hits in a few weeks (season four already deep in production). Been drinking in season two around work this week. Edited June 6, 20206 yr by blessingx
June 7, 20206 yr ^I really liked season 1 of Search Party. IIRC, season 2 kind of went off the rails & lost it's likeability, imo.
June 7, 20206 yr I may have just hit the rails part, and agree on likability, though at least part of that is probably the differences between the paths/general stories covered (and if rumors are true it’s going to get darker in three). Kinda like if Seinfeld was a season of, well Seinfeld, and then a season of its final episode. Edited June 7, 20206 yr by blessingx
June 8, 20206 yr One man's search for an elusive tune from 30 years ago (basically like every day of my life):
June 8, 20206 yr This one's for (recent) residents of the Pacific NW. I'm assuming that some of this info would be included in a decent education on local geo-history (right?). For me, I just dig volcanos!
June 8, 20206 yr yasss. Sonja and I have been long fans (since we moved up here) of Nick. He is currently doing 5 livestreams a week on his channel -- https://www.youtube.com/user/GeologyNick/videos got up and watched this livestream this morning.
June 8, 20206 yr Uncle Doug YouTube channel. If you like electric guitar amps, cats, hot rods or drones, you'll probably like this channel. https://www.youtube.com/user/Stratosaurus1
June 20, 20206 yr I have been watching Manny's new series. Maybe I am biased as I know everyone in the videos as clients or friends, but I am super impressed with the concept.

Just saw one of these pop up in my feed with Matthew McConaughey, which looks like it was episode 2. Will try to check this out; agree about the concept.
June 27, 20205 yr Staged A meta lockdown comedy with David Tennant and Michael Sheen playing versions of themselves (meta non spoiler reviews) https://www.thestage.co.uk/reviews/staged https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2020/jun/10/staged-review-michael-sheen-david-tennnant-the-trip-the-ego https://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/tv/reviews/staged-bbc1-david-tennant-michael-sheen-review-a9557211.html We enjoyed it.
