  • Turns out the damage was a bit more severe than a bad cable. They could still be repaired for less than the cost of a new pair, but not enough less that it seemed worth it. So new Etys are on the way.

  • That's because you're supposed to put them in your ears!

  • So the LCD3 Zebrawood showed back up tonight and I think I just bought a pair. Rob, you get the LCD5 and we'll compare and see if they're worth it, kay?

Short version is this: In spite of the fact that I've been (to use a term a friend coined to describe my behavior) "strip mining" sources of new electronic music since 1990, I have discovered more new music in my chosen genre because of SomaFM's Groove Salad than any other source.  Since I first got high speed internet 15 years ago, I spend at least a couple hours per week listening to GS and saving artist and track names I like to a text file.

Origin PC sale, up to 75% off.

Star Wars Battlefront is 30$ for poor people version, 35$ for deluxe, and 80$ for ultimate. Chris, time to nab this one.

Chris, this is $7 less than Brent paid.  You can finally win at something!

If we compare lives I think I am winning in pretty much everything.....

Other than the kids. Brents kids and my kids are a tie....

I meant important things.  Like games.  In which you should show your vast superiority to Brent, right now.

They're not on sale, they're from the outlet. I'd prefer to buy new. I just haven't decided whether getting a sub in an apartment is a good idea or else I would have one already. If you do see new subs on sale, please let me know though.

Thanks Greg!  Been considering picking this up to replace the earlier model due to the app control.  Not sure it is necessary but a nice feature.  There may by an earlier version Anova for sale soon.

I'm interested, Mike. Doing a lot more cooking for myself and want to get into S-V. Shoot me a message.

Do you need to be always connected or just to set it?

Edit: I guess I will find out! Happy Anniversary to me from my wife.

Mike, the remote controlled versions have had their problems. Certainly the people who wrote reviews most frequently are those that aren t happy but the reviews for the apps in the Apple app store are very poor. Even their support forum is littered with people not being able to connect to Bluetooth or Wi-Fi.

Yeah, I was actually trying to grab one of the older ones when they had a blow out sale for $99 to avoid these issues. Would have been nice to be able to turn on the circulator an hour before getting home but wasn't sure if the meat/whatever was in the container would not spoil during the day.

The remote circulators never made a lot of sense to me. Once I've started something with my existing Anova, I've never needed to change the temp mid run. Just seemed like a money grab on their part.

I've used mine probably 10 times since I got it two weeks ago.  Great success with chicken, eggs, steak, salmon, and flan.  I love this thing.

*Everything* has to have an app these days.

The app is truly useless.  The bluetooth doesn't reach from my kitchen to the couch, to I can't monitor it remotely, and it's simple to set up the temperature using the dial on the actual unit.  Once the temp. is reached I just set myself an alarm, often on the oven.
