I have a Canon EOS 40D and a 28-135 f3.5-5.6 IS lens. I have been asking around randomly and was looking at lenses today with the hope of finding the perfect lens for gear pics and use at meets. The question of whether it is better to get a macro or just a wide angle lens is not completely clear to me. Several people have 50mm f2.8 macro lenses and like those, and you can even go to f1.4 with a new Sigma lens, but I think I still want it to be a zoom for greater flexibility. Talk me out of it, of course, if you think that is the best choice. The lens that looks killer to me is the Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM, although it is very pricey and may be overkill for me. Th…

Wow. Just wow. Read this thread over on the other site: http://www.head-fi.org/t/593135/returning-to-headfi-electrostatic-rig-suggestions/45 My goodness. I don't know why I even bother to read things over there anymore. Spritzer, I don't always agree with your tastes in sound but I think there you were 100% in the right there. It's a shame the thread got closed down because I'd love to blast Jude for his posts. Bullcrap products and posts can and should be called out for what they are. It's a disservice to newer members to let some of the nut-cases over there run wild. It's sad to see some of those people taken seriously when its pretty clear they do not have a…

As all of you have no doubt heard, Sen. John McCain just had surgery where they were able to get most but not all of a Glioblastoma. It's a very invasive form of brain cancer and the Senator may well have another big fight on his hands. While I don't agree with a lot of the Senator's politics, I've always found him to be a stand-up guy in a profession where that's becoming harder to find. He's crossed party lines to work with Dems on several issues, he's a patriot and I don't give a flyin' Fark what Trump said about him, he is a hero of war. I'd like to see Lil' Donnie endure 1% of what McCain fought through. So I send my deepest wishes for John to win this battle an…

  11. For the past two days I have been trying to connect our new Macbook Pro to the home wifi network. The mac can see the wifi and I select it for our connection. So far I have only been successful with - Airport green light Airport settings green light Network settings yellow light ISP etc red light The set up asks me if to restart the modem or wifi router, which I did then asks if the router or modem is connected and in line between the Mac and the router/modem. I tried both answers, yes and no, no luck. The setup also asks for a airport password which I am assuming is the network password for the wifi connection. It also …
