Hey everyone, I just signed up to do the 2014 Tour de Cure to help fight diabetes. It's going to be nice to have more than 3-4 weeks to train for it this year, but I'll make it no matter what. I'm planning on receiving a package from overseas. I've received packages from Europe in the past, and never been charged anything (UPS/EMS just drops it off). But I want to be certain as it's a high dollar item and will be insured (thus having its real value on the package). I thought I'd ask here before I called US Customs. Pretty sure this doesn't mean anything but we have no state sales tax. Thanks guys.

My water heater is about 15 years old, so I've been thinking about getting a new one sometime soon before it blows up on me. With the Federal discount of 30% up to $1500 for all things green set to expire at the end of 2010, I'm deciding if I should go for a tankless or hybrid water heater before the end of the year. My current model is a gas 15 gallon one. It works mostly fine, but at the end of a long shower, it can run out. The hybrids look great, but really expensive, and there aren't too many gas models. I'd rather not have to retrofit an electric, since I have an old house, unless it's easier/cheaper than I think. My wife is a bit of a tree hugger, so she's…

Well, my trusty 1994 Corolla decided it couldn't face 2010 and died on 12/31. Thus begins a new tradition - the annual NYE walk. Transmission costs (waiting on estimate) will likely make stop repairs so I'm investigating newish car options. While I was expecting to pick up something used, with the current state of the auto industry, cash backs, lines disappearing, etc. began to consider a 2009/2010 Pontiac G3 (the once Vibe). The warranty is a big pull too.
