I was just thinking about some of the clothing fads in my younger days. One of the earliest fads I remember in middle school was Starter. They made work out or athletic clothing along the lines of Reebok, etc. I remember getting a Saskatchewan Roughriders Starter winter jacket one Christmas that was the coolest thing for a while. Later on a Red Wings Starter t-shirt that has the design to look like a movie poster, the movie being called "Wings of Fire" with the players names listed in the small print in the credits. I still have that shirt and love it. Another was Guess. Guess jeans, shirts, watches were pretty popular as well in my school around '96. And No Fear. …

Shades of Rodney Dangerfield. I have an opportunity to get Java programming certification starting this fall. I haven't been in a classroom for I dunno how many years. Of course, I'm less worried about the time away from yardwork and housework, and more concerned about being away from inhaling solder. I'm just finishing the never ending parts list for my Bijou. Gah! Oh well, I guess pc boards don't spoil in the back of the fridge. Actually might be fun, though. I'm in QA, so now the devs here will be less likely to try to sneak shit past me.

Hello Off-Topic Forum- Well the year is finally up, and what a year it has been! America got a new president of the united states, the war in somalia finally saved the black hawks from extinction, and ray samuels came out with a new amp/dac combo called "The Predation". Of course all this means its time once again to vote for your favorite imaginary headcaser. These are basically five names I sat here at work and came up with. The winner will receive a prestigeous plaque and an indigienous culture person for their home.

First off, this isn't a sour-grapes thing - I'm married. Valentine's day is a completely moronic "special" day. Isn't love supposed to be sincere, spontaneous, and distinctly expressed between the couple in love? How do $60 roses and a contrived card really express any kind of true feelings? Anyway, maybe I'm really just annoyed because I have to stop at the drugstore on the way home to buy a card.

Am I the only one who can't resist buying a book every time I go into a bookstore? I am almost compelled to buy a book whenever I walk into a bookstore, or else I feel like something is not complete. And sometimes I would buy books which I already have, but simply because I have an urge to read it but don't have it with me at my current location, and not to mention various different translations of the same work.
