I usually only bid on eBay items with PayPal payment allowed, but I was careless this time and bought some tubes from a seller who doesn't accept PayPal. I would appreciate someone in the US paying the seller on my behalf, with a money order or personal check. The amount due is US$106. I will pay you back by PayPal plus a "fee" for your trouble. Send me a PM if you are willing to help. EDIT: Someone has offered to help, thanks

I've been lurking and posting on head-fi DIY section for sometime now and I did not know that this site existed. Whoa, this site is EXACTLY what I need. Thanks. Whoever started this is akin to diyhifi starting their own site after getting shitted by diyaudio. Head-fi has long lost it's colors by holding an absurd amount of ignorance and fanboyism WITH actually mods protecting them. WTF? Here I don't have to deal with being nice when a product is really overpriced and when it's not really hard work R&D like how it's claimed to be.

Yep, another Head-Fi escapee here - just wanted to get my first post out of the way. To be honest, I have no particular motivation for signing on other than the recommendation of another Head-Fier who agrees with some of my cynicism on said forums, particularly in relation to some of the 'paid adverstisements' that masquerade as reviews. Nuff said.

I desperately need a good desk lamp. Using the computer as a light source just isn't a great idea for many reason. I noticed that Softech DL-90 has really good reviews on amazon and I like the idea of using LEDs and having a natural-like light source. I was wondering if anyone has used a similar type of light or has any alternatives?

Can a cat play patty-cake? Pawsibly! Can anything be smarter than a cat that can count? Yes, a spelling bee! Did you hear about the cat who drank 5 bowls of water? He set a new lap record. Did you hear about the cat who swallowed a ball of wool? She had mittens. How did a cat take first prize at the bird show? He just jumped up to the cage, reached in, and took it. How do cats eat spaghetti? The same as everyone else - they put it in their mouths! How do cats end a fight? They hiss and make up. How do you know if your cat has eaten a duckling? She's got that down in the mouth look! How do you know that cats are sensitive creatures? They never cry over spilt milk! How do y…

Aint it scary.. i mean, persistant storage has been cheap for awhile, and low fidelity records are cheap space wise. so why not... it was possible even back in the late 90's

I work in a residential facility of nine apartment buildings on a golf course and spend much of my day walking around annoying the patients. Many stray cats live on the golf course and come around mooching at night. They are almost all feral and impossible to tame. We know them all and the patients have names for them. Today, a cat I've never seen before starting following me around from building to building. I'd go in one for a hour or so and he'd be waiting for me outside the door of whatever apartment I'd been in and follow to the next one. I go in the office and he'd be waiting outside again and start meowing whenever I appeared. He must know a sucker when he sees one…

Be just like the Cool Kids, with their fancy Vinyl. "Why would anyone buy vinyl in this day and age?" "To be really cool," says Mark Wadhwa, one half of the pair behind the Vinyl Factory, which in 2003 rescued the EMI vinyl pressing plant in Hayes from closure. "Everyone can download. If you've got a vinyl record you're different." Vinyl: The business duo who believe it's got a big part to play in music's future - Telegraph

The boy wants to be Dr. Horrible for Halloween and of course waited until now to figure out the costume. The "Howie" lab coat below is the preferred style, although buttons would be even better than snaps apparently, but to get it in time will be over $100 of shipping. Any of you scientific type 'Casers have access to such a coat that you could FedEx to me? Willing to pay but thinking that $100+ for shipping is a bit much. Let me know if you can help. Thanks.

As of a couple of weeks ago I'm now officially in business with a license and everything I've been looking into ways of diversifying, and with that in mind I've been delving into other areas and letting a bit of my artistic (autistic?) side out. I bought a nice little engraver to go along with all my Proxxon mini tools. I'm also thinking of getting into knives and such. I don't know if that makes any sense but it's me thinking aloud. I'm not really a knife type but doing wood grips is fun. I don't actually know anyone into knives so I don't know what most look for in one. Any of you guys into knives? If so, what is it you look for. As to the engraving, I've had quite …
