After looong time I cooked very delicious thing today: THE ONE POUND BURGER! I made burger myself from entrecote It was 600 grams of meat before cooking, I added just black pepper and salt to the grinded entrecote. Shaped it and let it rest for 1 hour in the fridge. I used market bread since I don't have any owen. It does not good look but It was extremely delicious!2 points

You're going to have to do a lot better to get even close to Patrick82's level. Start with some Valhalla and rabbits, then learn some cool quotes like "If audiophile comes and listens to my system he would get shocked ... I don't want my home to be filled with dead bodies."1 point

I have not had time to play beyond starting the training thing to make sure the game works with the controller. I have had the kids in the evening every day this week and been so burned out I just went to bed. I'm at the lake this weekend and don't have any access to the gaming pc.1 point

This is a weird order. It's neither the incidental music in the order of the play, nor is it in the order of the two suites. In particular, it's kind of weird yet genius to put Åses død in front of Solveig's Song. That said, I like it; my two favourite movements played back-to-back. And it's meticulously played.1 point

OK. I better understand what you are talking about. I read up and got a better handle on the specific terms now.1 point

Oh my - that is bad news. RIP John Hurt. Was lucky enough to see him on stage with Harriet Walter Penelope Wilton in something by Chekov (it was a weird fusion of two plays) about ten years ago. Edit it was fifteen years ago; the date of the review does not lie https://www.theguardian.com/stage/2002/sep/20/theatre.artsfeatures21 point

Finally found a use for the Cervelo and the gaming system. Need some setup as it is way off on the power meter and my Vectors seem to be dead. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

The 007's really need a kick up the backside to perform. I just got some 007BL's yesterday and they appear to be completely stock so it will be fun to modify them. Stock they sound just a bit dull to be honest. The bass has the slight overhang to it and the soundstage is a bit too big. Treble needs a slight kick up the pants but it can all be fixed with the arcs. Feels a bit like 2002 to me... when I was messing with the Mk1's for the first time.1 point

Rather than resurrect a subthread in "what did you do today" or "ye mac thread", I thought I'd start a new one. What is the math software of choice to do DSP, modeling, etc.? I wouldn't mind paying a little bit, but of course I would prefer free, since I'm only a hobbyist at this point. I actually do need it at work (not really, my assessment), but CSC is so cheap they won't spring for anything the customer doesn't put in the contract as 'required'. Shelly posted that she hated the way Mathematica does licensing, and after investigating it, I concur that my infrequent use of it will not justify paying $155/year or $20/month. I might actually be in the Matlab beta program (I still get an email every time a new beta release comes out). Sounds like this reddit thread, except I'm asking youse guys (Chris, KG, Shelly, Birgir, et al)...I'll try Octave in lieu of any other recommendations or disrecommendations. Any and all thoughts appreciated.1 point

I was filled with nostalgia and googled fuglyphones... found an epic pic of the two fugliest headphones in existence, together in the same shot! Amazing. And surprisingly it isn't even Duggeh. Third ugliest goes to the Abyss so maybe the above guy could consider getting one if he doesn't mind spending $5000 on a half-finished piece of junk: And number four: Original Jecklin Floats don't even break top 5 ugliest anymore, amazing how fast technology moves!1 point

I agree, which is kind of sad seeing how optimistic i was for the hobby when audeze started developing their first headphone, and everyone was hopping on the orthodynamic hype train. There's still plenty of cheap orthos on ebay, but i guess part of the fun was actually unearthing and documenting all the obscure and forgotten phones nobody knew anything about, like PMB's, MB Quart's and weird Amfiton's. Not to mention putting SFI tweeters in all kinds of ugly donor-phones, hand-sewing custom ear pads and trading felt across the world with other users (like kabeer, ludoo, smeggy and ericj.) Those really were fun times.1 point

so the 2 piece version will be capacitor coupled output, the 4 piece version will be dc coupled output, the newest version of cast and cascode fet buffer. for balanced you will need 8 pieces. i'm sure a version of this is coming. as far as I know, no dsd but it should be capable of that. pricing is finally rational1 point

its not that those switchers are necessarily the wrong thing, i'll be that there is ultrasonic noise coming out of them that takes special equipment to see, its that the thing is enormously big for no reason. The original 2 box solution seems more rational. All the electrolytics likely get rid of any of the ultra high frequency noise. Now i'm certainly not one to pick on someone for excessive overkill but mine is going to look as close to the original just because I can. Complete with the rounded corners and the massively thick and machined front plate. Anodized two tone. The build job is still very nice, and the 4 pin headphone jack is what I intended.1 point
