  1. Thanks everybody for the birthday wishes. I sat in my sunshine and watched the first half of a cycling race that ended a week ago, and then had dinner out with Claire and my sisters in law, one of whose birthdays was last weekend. The côte de boeuf was huge and the Chateauneuf de Papes was tasty. Good day for sure.

  2. Well, after the fly on my right hand in January... It wasn't too bad getting it but after the color and the shading it feels like someone removed the top layer of skin with a blow torch right about now

  4. Nice Spring day, Karen and I went out for some shopping and just to see sites. Stopped at a wonderful Italian place in Southern NH called Tuscan Market (and Tuscan Kitchen restaurant right next door). Got perhaps THE best Italian panini I've ever had. That and some great cold brew coffee, sitting outside in the parking lot with my sweet, made for a very nice time.

  7. I have found that separating the outer cups and inserting live cockroaches vastly improves bass response in these headphones. They need to be true German cockroaches, as palmetto bugs and African cockroaches are too big and bloat the bass to near unlistenable. 6-8 roaches per cup should be about right. And don't forget to sprinkle in some crushed mouse droppings every few weeks. Dead roaches don't make good bass!

  8. it depends a lot on what you're recording, the sound of the room, and what works best for the mics in particular. For recording in a studio space, I don't think I'd use a stereo bar, I think I'd just experiment with where you place the mic stands... ORTF, DIN, XY, Spaced Omni...

  9. Thanks Jose. I'm not having ground loop problems, but because of this differential in the grounds between the 2 PSUs (with one ground missing from the pot to the amp board) I was having the protector board trip (it was grounded to the other amp board). It doesn't look like the grounds of the amp boards or PSUs are tied to the chassis at any point either. The only ground connection between the R and L channels was at the pot. Reconnecting the ground on the pot seems to clear up the problem completely. I think I will run a ground wire between the output grounds on both PSUs.

  20. The new battery and case back arrived at Fitz's place. It seems as though he has everything working well. He's going to keep it for a week or so, to be sure everything is functioning correctly, after closing it all up inside the case. Having a 1tb. iPod with solid state drive is going to be very useful for me, and Fitz even stuffed a whole bunch of his music in there for me. Thanks Fitz!

  21. well if you want to be that way 🙂 super detailed with to be accurate tone and timbre, extremely fast. I liked the bass in that is went low enough for my tastes rock and jazz but was tight with detail (think being able to tell the difference between a fender jazz bass of p bass) I regret selling these to Raffy but you can't own all the headphones they were not peaky to me but one persons detailed is another peaky. Also F these new fuckers they also sound like this

  24. My Mom grew up in Hollywood and went to Hollywood High School. When she and her sister were walking home from school one day, Gable was sitting in his Auburn Cord at the Goodyear store. My Aunt shouted "Hey Clark!" to which he turned and replied,.. "Well, hello girls." My Mom and Aunt screamed all the way home! Her stories alway made me feel connected to those days and I love that imagined kingdom (in b&w though).
