The peculliarities of this assembly: 1. I've changed diodes to shottky ones with a low leakage current: IDH05G120C5XKSA1. Works well. 2. I've used more presicion resistors for voltage dividers. That is why I've used 2 resistors instead of one sometimes - I prefer to use 2 presicion resistors intead of 1 usual xicon if there is no required value in a shop. This is also a cause of 502 voltages in +- 500 line: i've used a pair 271k + 221k instead of 490k resistor. And 120k + 120k for 240k and 145+145 for 290k. All the mentioned resistors are +-0.1% and less then 25 ppm. 3. most HV parts are slightly raised above the board. 4. I've decided not to solder the Low Bias part. 5. I use UF4007 instead of 1N4007 6. 0.1 uF capacitors are X7R. I don't like ceramic capacitors, but there are no alternatives with a suitable size (. At least I use 100V instead of 50V. It lowers capacitance changes with applied voltage.4 points

Not crazy about the show in the round. The screens lift up and of course lot's of political images and dialog on screen. My problem is I was up high (didn't quite qualify for nose bleed) with seats at the rail. Could not see the other side of the stage from my vantage point. Perhaps you could with lower seats. Not sure if I it is because I'm not used to in the round or that the stage facing the audience is actually a better experience. Roger is 78 years old. Missed some vocals and the people I talked to said it was his most politcal show yet. Enjoyed the show.4 points

I've soldered 400k resistors in final.... The first T2 PSU works now. I've tested all the channels. http://ixbt.photo/photo/406668/17916TMfujOMyVu/Hgj7GE8yHX/1502281.jpg Voltages: +250 -> +250 +500 ->+502 -500 -> -502 - 560 -> -563 - 260 -> - 263 I've also checked its transiend characteristic by loading it with an active load with a meander current from 5 to 40 mA and back. So there were changes in voltages up to 15-20 mV for +-500v and up to 10 mV for +250 and -260v.2 points

I didn’t know whether to trust this show again. Season 3 was such a clusterfuck I that I couldn’t believe they brought the show back at all. I’m glad I gave it another chance. I don’t really know where this new season is headed but so far they seem to have learned from their extravagances in season 3 and got back to the mind-fuckery that drew us all to Westworld to being with.2 points

Thank goodness someone found a way to recycle old pasties! I just hope they were washed first.2 points

CAFEC light roasts are much slower than standard Hario filters. The CAFEC Abacas are similar to Hario in drawdown. 10 minutes is totally normal for a fairly fine grind in the CAFEC light. They are designed to do it; it’s a hybrid method of brewing in the simplest way possible. I don’t “get” the CAFEC light roast filters, in that I never quite know what to expect, but I really like the results.2 points

I was essentially gonna say and ask the same thing. Except the part about going to see it again. 🤓1 point

Interested in hearing how the show is (in the round), I am considering a show later this year. I went years ago with DOTU in SF and it was pretty amazeballs.1 point

I typically adjust my grind to get a specific draw-down time with the Hario tabbed filters for a certain starting weight. This approach seems pretty good for me. I think I start with 23g and shoot for a grind that ends up around 2:30-3:00.1 point

Another one located about six miles away. Much better picture, the summer drought is bringing them down out of the mountains looking for water and food/people. Keep watching to the 37 second part. https://neighbors.ring.com/n/Zx9oPAvIxV1 point

unless I'm mistaken, Cafec filters are supposed to be faster drawing than current Hario-branded tabbed filters. 7+ minutes is way too long. my typical V60 filter targets are to not be shorter than 2:30 and no longer than 4:00 (variation on brew size and beans... denser and lighter add time).1 point

Covered Ears, It was around 4 minutes to get the 500gr of water through the 30gr of coffee. I ground a bit finer than what I've been using for the Chemex with these Ethiopian beans from Memli. I think with less dilution it will be closer to what I'm accustomed to flavor wise. I'll try again tomorrow. EDIT: I should add it takes about 4:30 to put 450gr of water through 30gr of coffee using the Chemex. HS1 point

The Hario V60 02 arrived along with CAFEC filters. I watched James Hoffman's how-to on YT and gave my first cup a go. First mistake I made was the recommended dosage. I should have stuck with the same dosage I use on the Chemex as I find a 15:1 more to my liking. It felt more fiddly than my Chemex but a good bit of that was because it was my first time using a different method / tool. I'll give it another run with the 15:1 and go from there. I did like that the coffee goes straight into my cup and there is no go between to absorb heat. The cup was OK but watery compared to what I prefer. Learning curve and that's part of the fun...something different. HS1 point

Great news, at least for the fencing crowd and our family. The US men' and women's teams medaled, silver...even without Lance's help. The French women's Olympian whom Lance used to train with and bested a few times, took gold. She was coached by her fiancé who used to train at the club as well. While training in So Cal they used to come over for my BBQ and Booker Syrah. I truly believe that is what led to their results and medals.1 point

Three times the price... the review from Singapore mentions how slow the Android interface works. You'd think Sony would have figured this stuff out by 2022. Their previous DAP products have been a hodgepodge. I looked at the much less expensive and positively reviewed Sony NW-A55(L) out of morbid curiosity, but it's hard to find and somewhat antiquated at this point. I'll stick with my phone and ancient iPod Shuffle from 2009 for a while longer. They work quite well and without the hassle of Sony software. There is also the question of what to do when the internal batteries die. I've returned quite a few iPhones to Apple for battery replacement and the Sony path is much less clear.1 point

Thanks for joining Head-Case. I'm glad you're here. That said, you should be aware that this isn't your typical internet forum. We're not here so that you'll have another place to sell your stuff. We're not looking for people trying to pad their post counts, or demonstrate their ability to find witty things on the internet. If you've come here looking for advice on which headphones to buy, perhaps you should check out http://www.innerfidelity.com. Tyll Hertsens, founder of Head-Room and long time community giant is the proprietor there, and does everything he can to ensure that accurate information is disseminated about headphones at every level. This is predominantly a place for friends to discuss music, audio gear, and whatever else tickles our fancy. We are sometimes quite rude, often irreverant, and regularly abusive. Think of it like the corner bar where everyone knows each other. Don't mistake our familiarity with each other as familiarity with you, even if you've seen our names in other locations before. Spend some time reading before you start to post. Get familiar with what is going on, and who the various people are. Don't just jump right into the fray. This is your only warning, but I hope you can participate. There's a lot of good information, and more importantly, good people here.1 point

Been working to overhaul a trailer redid the bearings cut off the old bunks used POR-15 for three coats directly on the rust then top coated two coats of OSHA blue re-did all the wiring and lights to get it legal, finally got inspection and the vin number assigned (a three month process, involving appraisal, inspection, weight certificate, surety bond, tons of paperwork and waiting in lines…) Now I am on to working on the front mast cradle again and trying to build in a winch to help with the mast raising process. Had a trial run over the weekend and my trig was off (angles are hard) and line was too short. Rats!1 point

I'm going to be taking the kids with me down the Nantahala on labor day, and in preparation, my youngest has been in a sit in kayak on the lake a few times. Yesterday she decided she was ready to start learning to roll, and pulled it off in her 3rd attempt, and got it twice in a row.1 point

Welp, last two weeks have been a headache with regard to showreels. Two weeks ago, while attempting to connect the mic to my mixer, I jostled the Thunderbolt cable enough to cause a momentary disconnect. Traktor freezes playback but resumes immediately when it gets disconnected from the DAC. The Mixlr app, OTOH, throws a complete fit and won't work right until it's restarts. The end result is that the record of that show got ruined. This past friday I used the tiny micro PC I have to run the Mixlr app, thus avoiding the possibility of the same problem cropping up two weeks in a row. Unfortunately, the UI on the Windows version of the Mixlr app is considerably different and the record function appears at a different stage in the launch process. There's also no way to enable recordings after going live. That meant there's no recording my most recent show, either.0 points
