Knuckledragger Posted June 14, 2025 Report Posted June 14, 2025 RIP Melissa Hortman, a state representative from Minnesota. Shot and killed in what was pretty clearly a targeted act of terrorism. 7 6
blessingx Posted June 15, 2025 Report Posted June 15, 2025 RIP Amanda Feilding, the Countess of Wemyss and March (aka Lady Mindbender). Dusty Chalk Posted June 17, 2025 Report Posted June 17, 2025 RIP Arthur Folasa Ah Loo, an innocent bystander shot and killed while peacekeepers were pursuing someone with an AR-15, at the No Kings rally in Salt Lake City. He was a beloved member of the community, and "dressed" some pretty famous people in the style of his Pacific Islander culture. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/asian-america/man-killed-no-kings-protest-salt-lake-city-designer-ah-loo-rcna213296?utm_source=firefox-newtab-en-us 7 1

blessingx Posted June 27, 2025 Report Posted June 27, 2025 RIP P. Adams Sitney, film scholar of the Avant-Garde “There’s in the art world in America now a deep hatred of the idea of originality and inspiration, a deep hatred of revelation,” he said in 2015. “There’s some ridiculous notion that art can be democratic. Art is the least democratic of all things!” https://www.nytimes.com/2025/06/25/movies/p-adams-sitney-dead.html?unlocked_article_code=1.SE8.tPES.7HF2tsiog1ch&smid=url-share 6

MexicanDragon Posted July 5, 2025 Report Posted July 5, 2025 RIP to Julian McMahon (left). I enjoyed him in Nip/Tuck, and remembered he had a part in Red. Secret battle with cancer, it seems. https://www.cnn.com/2025/07/04/entertainment/julian-mcmahon-death 8
Knuckledragger Posted July 7, 2025 Report Posted July 7, 2025 Holy shit. One of my closest friends from college was murdered not far from where she lived. Sunny was one of the toughest people I've ever met. I can scarcely process this. 19 1
skullguise Posted July 7, 2025 Report Posted July 7, 2025 No words other than I'm so sorry, Dan. That's just horrible..... 1
Sechtdamon Posted July 8, 2025 Report Posted July 8, 2025 So sorry to hear that, Dan. Don't know what to say. 1

skullguise Posted July 16, 2025 Report Posted July 16, 2025 (edited) (Edited for pronouns) RIP to poet (and more) Andrea Gibson. I hadn't really listened to them, only HEARD OF them. But with their death, I watched and listened. And....they were STUNNING! I watch several of their talks/poems and often times I cry, for their pain & beauty. Knuckledragger Posted July 17, 2025 Report Posted July 17, 2025 Dear lord. Today's news is insane, and leaves me with more questions than answers. Sunny was a tough woman. Not superhuman, but definitely world wise and not easily intimidated. She grew up in a harsh environment and knew how to fend for and defend herself. There's some missing piece of this story we still don't know. Is this kid a physical giant? Did she know him? I suspect she did. Did he manage to sneak up on her? This would be an insane story in any location, but in a quiet town of ~2000, it boggles the mind. 15
TMoney Posted July 17, 2025 Report Posted July 17, 2025 Horrible story indeed. Glad the perp will at least face trial. 1
