Bloody hell. Stay safe, you hear?

Thanks, will do! Just worried about if the power goes off. If we're stuck inside and the little one can't watch Paw Patrol, there will be blood.

Ayup. Down here on the coast we’re just getting misery rain, defined by me as when it’s sub-40, raining, and so windy as to render an umbrella useless (horizontal rain).  I had to tour some folks around yesterday and it was properly nasty outside.  Slightly better today with flurries in the forecast so it would appear there’s a chance of winter arriving this year.

I would much rather have snow over the nasty rain. I actually enjoyed shoveling the driveway. First time in at least seven years. Not sure how long the enjoyment will last.

Since it's pegged, it surely will drop at a rapid pace. It's been 21 years since I shoveled snow, and I'd be quite content to go at least another 21. I did have 40 years of shoveling bliss after all. Time to let someone else have some of the fun.

Stay warm, Nate (and everyone else up here)!  We did fine overnight...Karen turned up the thermostat temp "just in case" and I ended up waking up several times because it was too hot.....ALMOST cracked a window 🙄

Right now it’s -14 in Northfield with a wind chill of -32. But then we are having a high in the mid 30s tomorrow, so almost a 50 degree swing in about 24 hours. Pretty Crazy.

Those orange circles with squares in them represent over 1000 homes without power.  So far [knock on wood] we're okay.  Two friends of mine (85 and 89 years old) don't have power.  Apparently their propane (heat) stove works to some degree without power, but in a very reduced capacity.

I have the (dumb AF) color changing light bulb in an antique lamp.  For some reason, it's super sensitive to voltage drops.  It starts flickering way before anything else.  I've nicknamed it "the canary" and kept it on all day.   It's been steady for a few hours now, but I'm keeping an eye on.  I have no left my house (I can't) but I did take a number of photos from various windows.  I'll post them later.  It's crazy.  Things look like northern Scandinavia around here.
