August 28, 200916 yr As far as case/headphone problems, I have never really understand the mania over iphone cases. I've always kept mine nude. Sure it gets scuffed up, but I decided early on I'd treat my iphone like a tool. Its a tough little device. so what is awesome about the above is this week I drop the iphone and start having "stuck button" issues with my standby button. Meaning it can get stuck and send the iphone into a continuous turn on/shut down loop. I had the same thing happen with my down volume button a few months ago, and it has slowly gotten worse. Meaning it will turn my ringer all the way down or turn my call volume all the way down. So my iphone is slowly approaching unusability.
September 2, 200916 yr It looks like ATT has made some moves to improve 3G coverage in NYC and SF. AT&T Announces 850 MHz 3G Coverage Improvements in New York City and Other Markets - Mac Rumors
September 4, 200916 yr I just became T-Pain! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-NkBHMl8zI0 One more thing the iPhone fixes in my life.
September 5, 200916 yr As a vocal instructor, I should be vehemently opposed to anything associated with auto-tune...but I have to admit that is pretty dope:palm:
September 9, 200916 yr The current-gen iPod Touches just got a nice price cut ahead of the launch of the new ones. The 32GB is $120 off at $279.
September 9, 200916 yr Hey, app management on iPhone. Took a while, but that's nearly enough for me. Live from Apple's 'It's only rock and roll' event
September 9, 200916 yr Author Home sharing sounds pretty decent too. Makes me want a mac mini for the living room even more.
September 9, 200916 yr heh, Apple just took a shot at MS by claiming 73% of the DAP market to MS's 1.1%. Not exactly the approach I would take with reinvigorated antitrust regulators in DC. Arrogance like that gets folks in trouble.
September 9, 200916 yr apple isn't using a monopoly in one field to create a monopoly in another field, so i'm unsure how they could run afoul of antitrust laws. 'reks, I think it's arguable that a lot of Apple's behavior with respect to its music devices and iTunes is anticompetitive and raises antitrust concerns. And those are pretty well documented. But my concern would be more prospective. If Apple is considering new acquisitions/JVs/etc., then market share is a real issue. Bottom line: I don't see much upside to trumpeting market share that publicly. And I see lots of risk.
September 9, 200916 yr So I just got an 8GB 3G iPhone today. Bad timing? I also just downloaded iTunes. Is this the cool new version?
September 9, 200916 yr I guess my three week old 32gb Touch will need to be replaced now so people don't laugh at me on the subway.
September 9, 200916 yr No mention of screen improvements in the touch which disappoints me. There was never any suggestion there would be, but I still had some hope. The faster CPU/GPU and larger capacity is welcome though.
September 10, 200916 yr Rhapsody App now out... ... and it streams at 64 kbps (not sure the codec). Rhapsody App approved by Apple: 8 million tracks streaming to the ether (update: video!)
September 10, 200916 yr After a small bit of fuckery I am all systems go w/ the iPhone & iTunes. Was surprised that I could not make any mp3 into a ringtone but I found a program that will so all good. Found some cool apps already. Was very pleasantly surprised with the SQ. Not bad at all. I am considering calling the dude @ the AT&T store to see if I can trade up to the 3Gs today.
