does the iphone 6 uses micro sim or regular sim cards? If micro, my guess it is not the best option for switching sim cards for international use?

Adapters to use are cheap (5$ at T-Mobile stores), so it doesn't really matter that much.

Sorry, I mean, for instance, for someone that travels to central, south, Africa, let us say. I believe most provider companies there use regular SIMs.

 

I checked the specs for iphone 6 and it says "nano-SIM"

I'm working and wasn't thinking. 1) they may have nano Sims for sale 2, you may be able to trim them to fit. I'd have to look into it. But someone will chime in before I do.

We definitely need new phones. I was holding until the new iphone was released to see what it brought to the table. However, for my wife, the been able to switch SIMs overseas would be pretty much a necessity. Otherwise, she'd have to carry 2 phones, which when luggage space/logistics are limited, could be an issue.

So may have to think about the Galaxy S5....

most carriers around the world carry iphones, so most can handle the nano sims.  It's not a new thing at this point.

There are very few (if any) prepaid nano SIMs though.

You can, with a steady hand trim some sims.  Sim -> Micro -> Nano (depending on your layout of your sim)

You can get Adapters (with varying degrees of success) to convert Nano->Micro->Slim to use a given sim in a different sized holder / slot ...

 

Or like much of the (Non US) world ... Use a Dual Sim Phone ... ( e.g. keep your business number  + personal number separate )

Or use google voice , as a "virtual" phone  / number / font end  / - so you can change the physical phone back end at will - without having to inform your contacts - assuming you gave them the google voice number first.

Was planning to get this, as Verizon has been telling me that I am eligible for an early upgrade, but it seems the iPhone is the exception to that. Guess I will reevaluate in November.

If anyone has an iPhone 5s 64 gb (possibly 32 gb) ATT for sale let me know.  My daughter may be interested in buying it.

Know I'm late to the game on this one, but was at the company "tech stop" on a computer issue today and tried a Note 3 to see how large a 5.5"-ish screen was in the hand. Fuck it's huge.  

Yeah, it does look large in pics. The tmob rep said they will be shipping out starting 9/18 however apple's website says shipping out in a few weeks. So surely apple is on top of it regarding shipping estimates and the tmob rep was going by the 6 shipping estimates.

Really wish they would have had their shit together at midnight, it took more than an hour of refreshing the browser and iPad app before I finally was able to check out on an iPad. I hear the website didn't even come up until well after 2AM PST.

I'm worried that the 6+ will look silly big, but I'm drawn to the optical image stabilization and huge battery life.  Not sure what to get, so I ordered both, and plan to cancel or return one.  

 

Maybe I need to go to the AT&T store and handle a few phones with giant screens now.

Ordered the 6.  The 6+ is just too big for me to use as a phone and email on the go device.  I need to be able to use that fucker one-handed.  Based on the sim I printed out that was a no go.

My UK iPhone 6 order shows delivery between the 9th and 16th of October. I'll just walk around talking into the empty case until then, Dinny-style.

I am checking 6 status today. If they will be available significantly sooner i am changing the order.

 

edit: No dice, they would have to cancel the order and then put a new one for that. So it would in fact be worst time wise.
