Did Lake Watch water sampling in the creek. Then waterway Clean-Up Day. Landed a barnacle-encrusted traffic barricade and a car tire in the canoe. It was big game time. Then spent Sunday celebrating wife's Birthday. Now I need a couple days of to recover from my weekend.

Sorry to hear about your knee Nate and your eye Knuckles.

Me: I stayed home to meet the electrician who finally fixed some of the "mysteries" in the switches around the house. I could have done it myself but it's better to know it's done right :palm:

I came home last night to a leaking hot water heater, so now I'm waiting for the plumber to arrive.

x2

i think i'm helping my dad put in a new hot water heater this weekend. that'll be fun. -_-

Now I'm researching tankless vs high efficient tank. Aura, what are you installing?

We are also looking at better efficiency water heaters. Right now it looks like we may be going with one of the Bosch on-demand gas heaters.

I hope you guys post up what you end up getting for new water heaters. I am planning to update mine soon and tankless/on-demand heaters are what I am most interested in.

If we were looking to stay in our house for a while I would have gone with one of these:

A. O. Smith Water Heaters

I ended up installing a standard State (A.O. Smith rebranded) gas tank. ~82% efficiency. Cheaper than a tankless, about the same efficiency (maybe slightly lower) but we don't have a very high demand/throughput for hot water and would probably have not offset the cost savings in our current house.

Not totally sure since it's my dad's forte, but I think he was looking at tankless a while back.
