rocking some MFSL Rush out of the HF-2 right now. Sounds marvelous!

Rush and Grados. Always a good combo

Looking forward to finding out where these fit in the Grado lineup.

Damn you all, I pulled the trigger. I blame the aluminium. The irony is that they'll likely arrive well before the HD-800s.

Yeah, they do look very nice in person. I only got to spend a few minutes with them in the TTVJ room right after the unveiling and I'm not too familiar with the grado sound, so i'll pass on giving listening impressions.

I sold my SR-225 in preparation (I kind of knew I was getting them if they didn't come out sounds like SR-325i), but had to wait to know that I wouldn't regret it when I saw the pictures and first impressions. I'm happy, it compliments my M^3 and reviews make me feel it is probably more up my alley then an RS1.

Still on the fence. Not clear to me what the HF-2 offers (other than potential collector value) that the RS-1 doesn't already provide.

Better tone and accuracy

Thanks.

Metal earcups.

Would that happen to include your pair of HF-2 too Nate?

I know you said you're not gonna woody it if had metal cups but... :jacob:

Like I said, it deserves more consideration. I've already got a set of cups to go on them so it wouldn't take much to give them a spin as a set of woodys. But I'll probably wait until they've got 100hrs on them or more to see how they sit with me and Mr. Menace.

I'm really enjoying mine, and like postjack said, the mids are so yummy. Fell asleep last night listening to them. If I could wear them on the plane right now, I would. I'm wearing my esw10s at the moment, but thinking of selling them.

I'm having some cognitive dissonance. Right now with flats, I find the HF-2's bass a little too thick -- and with bowls the presentation is too remote for me. At this point, I'd still pick the HF-1s for my Grado fix. We'll see if things change with use and familiarization.

I always prefer comfy pads on Grados, not only they are most comfortable but the sound signature is right between bowls and flats too.

edit: HF-2 might be a total different headphone from all other Grados I've heard.

Comfy pads? Got a link to a description or source, please? In between would be about where I'd want to be. :)

EDIT: Nevermind. Found 'em.

I thought comfy's are what come on the the Grado SR-60's.

Keep us posted. I'm still on the fence about the HF-2 partly because I had a love-hate relationship with my HF-1s. But I could definitely go for a slightly more remote midrange. Is it the midrange or highs that are remote? I'd be interested in any other comments you have about the HF-1 vs. HF-2 as well.

HF2s are fairly different from other grados, except they have the great ps1 mids

That's starting to get me impatient to receive my HF-2. Still a few weeks away :(
