Gang, the iPad Mini was a complete success.  He was so happy.  Thanks for the guidance!

It's not mentioned, but in case you're interested in alternatives...

Apple says my 3G iPad mini will arrive on 11/20. But I think I'm going to offer it to my college daughter while she's home for Thanksgiving. If she accepts the gift but I had fun playing with it before she leaves then I can get another one.

one can never have too many ipads

How many minis did you order?

He just started sending an iPad mini with every Pico. It has the manual downloaded in it.

But then he's gotta charge $329 for the Lightning to USB camera connection kit to make up the difference.

are you off your meds again?

sssh, he's saving the economy

I thought I had an appropriate slightly humorous response. What's with all the hostility?

Is that called a faugh or a lart?

I've had my ipad mini for a couple of days, and I can say that while it works for me, I can't imagine recommending it for most people. I know why they made the compromises they did, but it's somewhat underwhelming. iPhone apps scale up to look REALLY pixelated. The touch points are a little small, so it can be annoying for web browsing.

What I like about it:

It's about the perfect size for a car GPS

It fits in the bag I wanted to carry it in, that I could never fit the full sized ipads in

It's small enough to be comfortable reading at night as I'm falling asleep

It runs IOS apps

Finally have the iPad4 set up exactly like the ipad2. Really pretty similar. ...

Well except for the fact that the retina display is so crisp it makes the ipad2 display seem like line printer graphics. Other than that they are pretty similar. ....

Well except for the fact that the new processor makes everything on the iPad2 seem like it is running on a Timex/Sinclair and the LTE makes the 3G seem like things are running in reverse and even the WiFi seems faster. But other than that, it's pretty much the same.

+1 for Timex Sinclair reference.

Had the mini for about 10 days. I can see how many would like the ipad better, but for me the size is perfect. Easy to carry and much easier to handle than the ipad.

Great for surfing the web, email and books. Did I mention how small it is? :)

That's pretty much what I thought going from 1 to 3.

Bugger. Looks like I'm going to be dew'n eet, den.

I've noticed that my 1st Gen iPad has become annoyingly slow. I'm not sure whether this is due to upgrading to the iPhone 5 or an actual degradation in performance. I actually wiped the device and started fresh and it's still sucky. What gives?
