Too bad as this site remains a good source of information at times! You don't really "get" HC if you think post-count matters here. It has nothing to do with self-importance. Most people on HC know each other and the familiarity breeds friendly irreverence. Non-friendly irreverence gets shot down because frankly if you did that in real-life, who wouldn't get shot down? Do you go into someone's house and start insulting him before you get to know him? I don't know what kind of info you're looking for here either, unless maybe you're looking for info on beer & spirits. screaming oranges Posted April 4, 2011 Report Share Posted April 4, 2011 (edited) I will lighten the mood of this thread by stating that a Liter bottle of Flor De Cana Rum, Gran Reserva (7 years aged) is less than $7 in stores here in Nicaragua when, in the states, I have seen it for $20 minimum. I have been unable to find a bottle of Havana Club though. Anyway, I am drinking about five miles away from a volcano, waiting for my cousins to get ready for our next outing, listening to some music and thinking that life is fuckin awesome! On my next trip here, I want to listen to a Stax SR009 setup next to a fuckin live volcano!! Unfortunately, I have yet to figure out how to power the setup. I am thinking of somehow taking advantage of all the inherent energy in lava, but my noobness can't figure out how to achieve this feat. Also, hardy har har to the 17 jokes... the truth is, that's how long I am. Now you all know. EDIT: Dang it, I didn't state a unit of measurement. Oh well... At first he told me they would probably ship out on 4/20 or around that time, but he said to check the website because this is the most accurate date. Elusive Disc SR-009 If you look at the site now it says "Expected on: 05/06/11" so it looks like they are a bit late already. He told me they will be the first to get the phones in the US, they get them through Yamas. I asked if I could pick them up since Yamas is 30 minutes away from me, but to avoid taxes, they have to be shipped to IL then back to me That's all I know at this point. Those drivers look absolutely amazing....no PCB electrode this time. Looks like the SR-009 is a headphone that they went full scale assault on and this time it seems they had enough time to do it. Ok, that's just porn for me. Construction is basically identical to the SR-007, driver enclosed in a resin frame but with the old Lambda style solder contacts. Box is the same design as the SR-Omega... When the guy on the left adjusted the headphones it seems that only the headband moved up and down within the arc assembly and not the arc assembly itself. If that's the case then people with big heads won't look awkward with these on! Now it's the people with small heads that are going to have a huge gap between the headband and arc assembly.
