RMA'ed a WD Red drive. I guess this is why you pay for redundancy.

 

Having to spend money to ship back a defective drive sucks, but it sounds like you didn't lose any data.  I'm told that all drives will fail at some point, so RAID redundancy is almost a must if you want minimal downtime.

Keeping a tired infant awake so he can be asleep (i.e., not moving) during his audiology appointment a bit later.  This is terrible.

^ Ugh. Hope audiologist appt went well.

Child care closed today so took the day off and Esmé and I had a blast. Highlights so far were hanging at a park and E's first movie theater experience. Her response to what'd she like most about Planes: Fire & Rescue - "the escalator!" (outside the theater). Okay, she's developing taste. Then we rode the escalator six thousand times.
